Mosta managed to take the lead on the 27th minute. Ian Zammit scored from his corner kick when goalkeeper Diego Rossetto did not manage to neutralise the ball, re- sulting in it going into the net. Mosta went close to scoring again on the 49th minute when Edin Murga's shot hit the wood- work. On the 66th minute, Edin Mur- ga would not be denied when he made his way past the goalkeeper to make the score 2-0. Mosta were in total control of the match and on the 84th minute they made it 3-0 when Edin Murga served Saviour Fidelis with a pre- cise cross to have the latter beat goalkeeper Diego Rossetto. ST. Brazilian midfielder Pedrinho's solitary goal was enough for the Blues to beat Pembroke who so far hasd won two out of two. However, Sliema had to survive a second half onslaught as Pembroke sought an equaliser. Chasing their first points of the season, Sliema hit the ground run- ning and had most of the posses- sion in the first half. The Blues went ahead when from a Michael Mifsud pass, Pedrinho hit the ball past Pembroke goal- keeper Matthew Farrugia on the 32nd minute. After the break, Pembroke showed more ambition and creat- ed a number of chances. However they could not breach Sliema's de- fence, marshalled by Glenn Zam- mit in goal. On the 52nd minute, Italian mid- fielder Paltemio Barbetti crossed the ball to Ariel Laudisi whose ef- fort went wide. In a fast paced second half, both sides created a number of chances but neither side seized the oppor- tunity to score any further goals. As Sliema attempted to double their lead, Mifsud was denied a goal as Farrugia saved a good shot from the Malta striker. On the 87th minute Pembroke were unlucky not to equalize after Barbetti saw his powerful free-kick saved by the Sliema goalkeeper. Pembroke's best chance fell to Argentinian striker Ariel Laudisi who in injury time hit the post.
