maltatoday, SUNDAY, 20 SEPTEMBER 2015 46 Motoring The new A6, the winning car in business class, has just got better AUDI has just updated this icon in the Audi range of cars with new engines, new transmissions and new headlights. Sharp lines, emphasized horizon- tals, athletically taut surfaces – the design of the A6 models epitomiz- es precision and sporty elegance. It was carefully honed as part of the model refresh, with changes made to the Single frame grille, the headlights, air inlets, bumpers, side sills, rear lights and tailpipes. Audi optionally offers headlights with LED technology or Matrix LED technology, combined with dynamic turn signals. Thanks to its intelligent com- posite construction concept, the body is extremely rigid and safe. Numerous components of alu- minium and hot-shaped steel form the backbone of a systematic light- weight construction concept. The chassis also combines su- preme comfort with sporty han- dling. The sophisticated wheel suspensions – five-link front sus- pension and trapezoidal-link at the rear – are constructed of alumini- um, and the power steering has an electromechanical drive system. Every detail of the spacious inte- rior is a testament to the brand's uncompromisingly high stand- ards of quality. Elegant colours and carefully selected materials emphasize the cultivated atmos- phere. Options available for the front seat include ventilation and mas- sage features. A new infotainment (a term and popular buzzword for a media device or service that delivers a combination of information and entertainment) system makes this car more efficient, more powerful, more attractive and more sophisti- cated than ever. The 2015 Audi A6 is very well- equipped even at the entry level of the range. But it's the options for the line-up that will really impress drivers and passengers alike. From Google Earth maps, to in-car wire- less Internet access, to an innova- tive system that lets you trace out letters with your finger, this line- up goes above and beyond with technical features and options. All engines comply with the lim- its of the Euro 6 emission standard, and their CO2 emissions have been reduced by as much as 22 percent. At Audi, the most efficient engines bear the "Ultra" label. The 2.0 TDI "Ultra" with 110 kW (150 hp) achieves the extremely low consumption figure – with no restrictions with respect to equip- ment – of 4.2 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres corresponding to 109 grams CO2 per kilometre. The new Audi A6 starts at €49,900 for the 2.0 TDI 150 hp Diesel engine with manual trans- mission. Other Diesel engines available are: 2.0 TDI 190 hp and 3.0 TDI 272 hp Quattro AUDI A6 can be viewed at Con- tinental Cars Ltd.
