Fort St Elmo open for free to visitors during Notte Bianca AS part of the tenth anniversary edition of this year's Notte Bianca, Fort St Elmo will host a night of eclectic live music from some of Malta's top bands. Following an extensive restora- tion of the fort, which cost €15.5 million, the public can now also enjoy a new War Museum within its walls. The National War Mu- seum, which will be open to the public free of charge during Notte Bianca, houses a superb collection of items from prehistoric to con- temporary times. These are dis- played in chronological order and start with the early phases of the Bronze Age around 2,500 B.C. Perhaps the three most impor- tant icons of this museum are the Gloster Sea Gladiator N5520 FAITH, Roosevelt's Jeep 'Husky' and Malta's award for gallantry, the George Cross. During Notte Bianca from 19:00 onwards, Fort St. Elmo will be hosting Band' Ohra a night of ec- lectic music headlined by Bean- growers featuring Explicit, Infi- nite Loop, Angelcrypt, Forsaken, Marmalja and Plato's Dream Ma- chine. On the granaries of Fort St Elmo, Team Maximum Lock will be tak- ing their cars for a spin and show- casing a drifting/stunt experience – a first during Notte Bianca. The Mediterranean Conference Centre will be hosting Opera u Ghana, a collaborative music project presenting a fusion of two very distinct musical genres. The programme starts at 20:00. Nearby, the sound of choirs will be gracing the newly restored late 16th century Church of St. Mary Magdalen.
