Maestro Brian Schembri conducts the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra musicians, and the programme includes: Bach/ Webern: Fuga(Ricercata) a 6 voci; Bach: Concerto for Two Violins; Stravinsky: Danses Concertantes; Handel: Harp Concerto in B flat Major. NOVEMBER 25 MPO CHOGM Concert Classical music concert organised ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta at 19:30. Conducted by Brian Schembri, the programme includes works by Peter Sculthorpe (Earth Cry), Larysa Kuzmenko (Behold the night) and Charles Camilleri (New Idea Symphony). Entrance is free. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL NOVEMBER 23 Celebrating the life and works of Antoine Camilleri (1922-2005) Exhibition of works by the celebrated post-war artist Antoine Camilleri at St James Cavalier, Valletta. Through a diverse selection of drawings, prints, designs, paintings, artistic tools and video, the exhibition traces Camilleri's growth as an artist and as a person – a life-time of continuous rediscovery – from the primordial years of his education at the Malta School of Art, to his studies in Europe, to his personal relationships with his family, nature and religion. THEATRE NOVEMBER 1, 5-8; 12-14 Attempts on Her Life Unifaun Theatre production of Martin Crimp's play, directed by David Barton and staged at St James Cavalier, Valletta at 20:00. Featuring Alan Montanaro, Louiselle Vassallo and Isabel Warrington and Edward Mercieca. The show, created by Montanaro, features a number of singing, dancing, and comedy sketches, written by the four writers Alan Montanaro, Malcolm Galea, Herman Grech and Chiara Hyzler, with additional material by Vikesh Godhwani and Joseph Zammit. Directed by Denise Mulholland, Malcolm Galea, Herman Grech and Chiara Hyzler. Choreography is in the hands of Emma Loftus, with musical arrangements by Paul Abela. Tickets are at €15, €20 and €25. Late last year, Chris became a dad. This is the story about how utterly unprepared he was for this experience. People tell you that having a child is difficult, but they don't really tell you! NOVEMBER 14, 15 Garcia Lorca's Yerma and The House of Bernarda Alba Upstart Productions Drama Company presents an evening of two plays (in English) by Garcia Lorca: 'Yerma' and 'The House of Bernarda Alba' at the Mount Carmel Community Theatre, Attard at 20:00. FESTIVALS NOVEMBER 16-22 Ziguzajg Festival 2015 ŻiguŻajg Arts Festival is organised by Fondazzjoni Kreattività, a catalyst for the contemporary art scene in Malta, which aims to become a hub were people of all ages and from all walks of life can join in the enriching act of creativity. Through ŻiguŻajg Arts Festival and other events, the Centre fosters aesthetic and cultural awareness amongst the younger generation. NOVEMBER 19-23, 25-29; DECEMBER 2-7 Malta International Organ Festival During this festival we will be able to hear some of the greatest music written through time for the King of Instruments - the Organ, being performed by world renowned top- notch musicians, in the Churches and Cathedrals Malta's heritage can boast of. FILM FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 6, 7 RIMA Film Festival Film festival based on migrant narratives at Casa Pereira, Republic Street, Valletta at 20:00. Entrance is at €3.50 per night or €5 for two nights. A debate with the public and in the presence of film director, Zakaria Mohamed Ali will be held after the screenings. Drinks will be available at the bar. MALTESE HISTORY NOVEMBER 11-14 Malta History Week 2015 Taking place at the Inquisitor's Palace in Birgu, History Week 2015 will be exploring the Great Siege of 1565, the founding of Valletta and their lasting effects. Roger Crowley, acclaimed author of Empires of the Sea, will deliver the keynote lecture on Wednesday 11 November at 18:30.
