DECEMBER 4 Caravan: Notes of Faith A peacebuilding East-West concert with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Held during The Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale on 4 December 2015 at 20:00. Forming part of the Mdina Cathedral as part of the Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a concert offering the audience a stimulating and challenging opportunity to contemplate fundamental eternal questions of existence, faith, harmony and peace through the ethereal acoustic experience of outstanding musicianship. EXHIBITIONS DECEMBER 5-16 Running with Scissors Paul Scerri's solo exhibition held at the Splendid, Strait Street, Valletta. The series of work has been developed over the past 12 months, it comprises over 30 freestanding works as well as wall hangings. Curated by Lisa Gwen Baldacchino. UNTIL DECEMBER 8 Departure, Identity, Memory, Nostalgia and Return The exhibition, organised at the Parliament of Malta, Valletta within the remit of CHOGM 2015 seeks to explore how memory survives across time and distance. It seeks to present images, visuals and objects that tell personal and collective stories of migration and relocation. The exhibition celebrates CHOGM 2015 and is being put up in collaboration with various national Institutions. It builds on the arguments presented in its sister conference event held in June 2015. UNTIL JANUARY 7 Mdina Biennale – 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other' The Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale will establish a spiritual space celebrating creativity. The theme for 2015 is 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other', 'The Other' standing for faith and non-faith, belief and non-belief, theist and atheist, agnostic and polytheist. The Mdina Biennale traces its roots back to the previous Christian and Sacred Art Biennale of the 1990s, and the forthcoming 2015 event will radically widen its creative spectrum. UNTIL JANUARY 10 Watches Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti is continuing with its series of temporary exhibitions with an exhibition dedicated to antique watches. Over 50 watches specially loaned from private and museum collections, highlight the technological and artistic qualities of antique watches. This exhibition is guest-curated by David Thompson, who occupied the role of senior curator of Horology at the British Museum until his recent retirement. The exhibition considers their variations and functions, and takes an in-depth look at particularly important watches belonging to notable personalities. More information: http://www.palazzofalson.com/. COMICS CONVENTION DECEMBER 5, 6 Malta Comic Con 2015 Seventh edition of the Malta Comic Con. The convention, organised by Wicked Comics, is dedicated to the art of the comic book and its many associated sub cultures – such as gaming and cosplay – and will be taking place on December 5 and 6 at the Magazino Hall, Valletta Waterfront from 10:00 to 18:00 on the first day and 11:00 to 19:00 on the second day.
