15 WHAT'S ON MUSIC & THEATRE DECEMBER 26 Brikkuni Live/Boxing Day Party Pop-folk act Brikkuni will be performing at the Orpheum Theatre, Gzira. Nigel Baldacchino (Fastidju) will be resident DJ for the night. Doors open at 20:30. Tickets will be available at the door. DECEMBER 26 The Ranch - Live @ Django The rock-jazz band Ranch will be performing at Django Jazz Bar, Republic Street, Valletta at 21:30. The band's album, Cuckoo Island, will be on sale. DECEMBER 27 E.M.M. presents Electric Café – A Concert For Charity Malta's electronic artists will unite for the very first time to pay a tribute to the works of world-famous electronic music pioneers, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Several artists will be performing their arrangements on vintage keyboards, modular, software and also wind synthesizers and will be assisted by reactive lighting and projections. All proceeds of this concert will be in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF) and will be held at the Spazju Kreattiv - St James Cavalier Theatre starting at 19:00. Donations to MCCF will be accepted at the door. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL JANUARY 7 Mdina Biennale – 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other' The Mdina Cathedral Contemporary Art Biennale will establish a spiritual space celebrating creativity. The theme for 2015 is 'Christianity, Spirituality and the Other', 'The Other' standing for faith and non-faith, belief and non-belief, theist and atheist, agnostic and polytheist. The Mdina Biennale traces its roots back to the previous Christian and Sacred Art Biennale of the 1990s, and the forthcoming 2015 event will radically widen its creative spectrum. UNTIL JANUARY 10 Watches Palazzo Falson Historic House Museum in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti is continuing with its series of temporary exhibitions with an exhibition dedicated to antique watches. Over 50 watches specially loaned from private and museum collections, highlight the technological and artistic qualities of antique watches. This exhibition is guest-curated by David Thompson, who occupied the role of senior curator of Horology at the British Museum until his recent retirement. The exhibition considers their variations and functions, and takes an in-depth look at particularly important watches belonging to notable personalities. CHRISTMAS EVENTS TODAY Live Crib in Lija Soċjeta' Sant'Andrija is organising its annual live crib in its club's courtyard at 39, St Andrew Street, Lija. The live crib will be open between 17:30 and 20:30. The crib will feature children and adults in costume representing traditional biblical scenes in Bethlehem. A donation of €1 per adult is welcomed. DECEMBER 26 Pudina Tal-Milied 2015 A post-Christmas treat, Pudina tal-Milied will be held at Liquid Club and promises a line-up that will help partygoers recover from the festivities. DECEMBER 26 – JANUARY 2 Comedy Knights: Three Times Funnier The Comedy Knights are back with their new hit show Three Times Funnier, continuing the new tradition of bringing comedy to Christmas. The cast will be made up of eight of Malta's best- known comics, namely Chris Dingli, Marc Cabourdin, Jo Caruana, Pia Zammit, Colin Fitz, Thomas Camilleri, Steve Hili and Larissa Bonaci, in a series of sketches that will help the audience relive the foibles, flops and farces of 2015. DECEMBER 27 Thomas Smith Christmas Charity Swim Now in its 17th edition, the swim this year will be held off the pier in front of the Plough and Anchor Pub, Sliema, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Registration starts at 09:30, with President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca launching the swim at 10:30. UNTIL JANUARY 3 Bethlehem f'Ghajnsielem Bethlehem f 'Għajnsielem is an animated nativity village spread on 20,000sqm of land at Għajnsielem, Gozo. Bethlehem f 'Għajnsielem will also include re-enactments of the 'trip' from Nazareth to Bethlehem of Joseph and Mary as well as the Adoration of the Magi on the Epiphany (first Sunday after New Year's day) when the three Wise Men will depart on horseback from Malta to Cirkewwa terminal where they will board a ferry in mid-afternoon before making the triumphal entrance to the nativity village. UNTIL JANUARY 27 Cribs Exhibition The St Joseph the Worker Exhibitions Society of Birkirkara will be organizing for the 13th consecutive year, the Annual Exhibition of Cribs. In this exhibition one can find numerous cribs of every size and shape, as well as Baby Jesus statuettes, paintings and other items related to Christmas. Most of the items are handmade exhibits produced by the exhibitors themselves. Some of the exhibits will be shown publicly for the first time. The exhibition will be held at the Parish Centre of St Joseph the Worker, no 71, Bwieraq Street, Birkirkara.
