APRIL 8 Hop Trio! & Ritmi-KA Ensemble project This year, the International Spring Orchestra Festival has teamed up with Education+ to bring three highly-regarded percussionists, forming the Hop Trio, over to Malta once a month for three months to work with two selected colleges. Taking place at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 20:00. With the help of their teachers, the local musicians will transform their experience into a piece to be performed tonight by the ritmi-KA Ensemble (Rhythms – Creative Action). Bookings: http://bit.ly/1YENV0d. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL APRIL 6 Sensory Apparatus Collective exhibition by the artist in residence at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Featuring work by Bonamy Devas, Libby Heaney and Anna Ridler. Comprising a three- room installation and education room, Sensory Apparatus is a collaborative, interdisciplinary installation, making visible the incessant flow of data we constantly and often unknowingly create, bringing into question our perception of how technology shapes the apparently 'optimised' society we live in. UNTIL APRIL 10 Soar – Anatomy in Motion This installation is the culmination of a five-year long project by physician Charles Paul Azzopardi, where the display of a corpus of 44 photographic prints is based on the practice of dance, photography and original writing. THEATRE APRIL 7–10 Teatr-ejn Double-bill performance of two original Maltese-language plays at Spazju Kreattiv (St James Cavalier), Valletta at 20:00. Featuring 'Inverzjoni', written by Stefan Magri and directed by Tyrone Grima; and 'It-Tfajjel ta' fuq il- Bandla' written by Andre Mangion and directed by Josette Ciappara. Bookings: http://www.kreattivita. org/. APRIL 8–10 World Premiere: The Price of One by Edward Bond World premiere of Edward Bond's latest play at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta at 20:00. Written by Edward Bond and directed by Chris Cooper. Cast includes: Malcolm Galea, Magda Van Kuilenburg, Andre Agius and Simone Spiteri. Devised in conjunction with Malta's Unifaun Theatre Productions. It will premiere in Malta before travelling to the Edinburgh Fringe. Supported by the MAF Large Projects Fund. APRIL 8, 9; 15, 16; 22, 23 God's Official Mostly Harmless production of Robert Farquhar's football comedy at Blue Box, Mdina at 20:00. Directed by James Calvert. BOOK FESTIVAL APRIL 5–7 Campus Book Fest The Għaqda tal-Malti – Università and the National Book Council are organising the third edition of the University Book Festival, known better as the Campus Book Fest. The Festival will take place at the University Campus, Tal-Qroqq from 09:00 till 14:00 and from 16:00 till late. Several publishers and distributors will be participating, and there will be talks and workshops running throughout. This year's special festival guest is the Icelandic writer Gerdur Kristny. On April 6, Kristny will be giving a workshop related to the re-writing of Norse Mythology and on April 7, we will be closing off the festival with a reading of her work followed by a Q&A session.
