The data showed that the downturn resulted from price decreases in energy (14.02%, and on the other hand, prices within capital, consumer and intermediate goods rose by 0.73, 0.35 and 0.01 per cent respectively. Figures show that producer prices for the domestic market decreased by 3.33%, mainly on account of a drop in prices for energy (14.02%) while price increases were recorded in intermediate goods (1.59%), consumer goods (1.51%) and capital goods (1.10%). The NSO added that non- domestic prices decreased by 0.39% due to drops registered both within the euro area (0.58%) and the non-euro area (0.28%). According to statistics, in March, the producer price index for total industry declined by 0.34%, prices for intermediate goods decreased by 0.64% and by 0.18% within consumer goods while energy and capital goods prices remained constant. Domestic market prices increased by 0.04%, due to a rise in prices within consumer goods by 0.12%, the NSO added. Figures show that prices for the non-domestic market decreased by 0.61% due to drops registered both within the euro area (0.09%) and the non-euro area (0.91 %). Central Bank starts register of all individual credit lines exceeding €5,000 Matthew Vella All banks in Malta are now legal- ly required to provide the Central Bank with all details of all credit facilities granted, where the credit exposure at individual level ex- ceeds €5,000. The primary objective of this central credit register is to facilitate the development of a sounder credit market. The Central Bank has instructed credit institutions to provide the information on a monthly register of end-of-month balances of exposures. The reporting will start in April 2016, when the end of March position will be reported. In a letter to depositors and clients, banks said that information related to all credit facilities in excess of €5,000 will be made available to the Central Bank, which will include notice of loans, overdrafts, payment commitments, credit cards and other credit lines deemed to present a credit exposure. Credit institutions shall be fully responsible for the correctness and completeness of the information they provide in relation to the register. Only the data submitted in relation to the previous 24 months up to the latest reference period shall be available on the register. Information accessed shall not include reference to the credit institution granting it. The information accessed shall be used exclusively by the requesting credit institution and shall not be transmitted to third parties. Customers or their lawful representatives may also request to exercise the right to have an extract of the information held about them on the register. A credit institution may also access information on any exposures of persons who are proposed to act as guarantors in relation to an exposure, provided that the credit institution provides evidence by electronic means of an information request notification form signed by the guarantor.
