MAY 20 Remembering BB King May 2016 marks the first anniversary from the passing of BB King, the legendary bluesman who dedicated his entire life to the Blues, making him one of the most accomplished and celebrated musicians of all time. The Creepers will be producing "Remembering the Legend " at Razzett L-Ahmar, a tribute concert celebrating King's legacy featuring musicians Sven Midensol (Vox & Guitar), Ben Bailey (Guitar), Antoine Tonna (Bass), and Patrick J. Camilleri (Drums) as The Creepers. Tickets will be available at the door for €8. Doors open at 8:30pm. EXHIBITIONS APRIL 23-MAY 16 You Are What You Eat Collective exhibition about what food says about our society, at Blitz, St Lucy Street, Valletta. Featuring works by Aaron Bezzina, Sarah Maria Scicluna and Pippin Barr, led by anthropologist Elise Billiard- Pisani. Curated by Alexandra Pace. A creative collaboration between human rights NGO Aditus and Blitz. MAY 6-JUNE 6 SixFiveSix Participants of the MFA in Digital Arts launch their annual exhibition, this time entitled SixFiveSix and taking place at Spazju Kreattiv (St James Cavalier) in Valletta from May 6 to June 6. THEATRE MAY 13-15, 20-22 Marti Martek Martek Marti Stagun Teatru Malti 's next production at the Manoel Theatre, Marti Martek, Martek Marti by Malcolm Galea (of Porn, The Musical fame) is a satirical theatrical romp that tackles the question without falling into the trap of needing to moralize the outcome. There are no hidden messages here, no deep intellectual exercises. Instead the production promises tongue in cheek naughty naughtiness. The characters are quintessentially Maltese, middle class, and 'liberated ', jostling through hilarious, totally irreverent situations. Teatru Manoel 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 May. Friday and Saturday performances start at 8.00pm. There are two performances on each Sunday, at 3.00pm and 7.00pm. FILM FESTIVAL MAY 3-11 Kinemastik Film Club – The Consequences of Love Brikkuni frontman Mario Vella curates the upcoming editions of the Kinemastik Film Club, held at the British Legion Bar, Melita Street, Valletta at 20:00. First film in the series will be Paolo Sorrentino's existential thriller The Consequences of Love. Entrance is against a small donation. MISCELLANEOUS TODAY Valletta Green Festival 2016 A weekend-long event organised by the Valletta 2018 Foundation that raises awareness about the environment by transforming otherwise urban areas such as Valletta into colourful green areas. The main attraction of the festival is the infiorata, a large installation which transforms one of the largest open spaces in Valletta, Pjazza San Ġorġ with a huge f loral carpet of some 80,000 potted plants.
