Nike launches new designs in CR7 collection CRISTIANO Ronaldo's love for the Mercurial range start- ed back in 2002 and he first donned a pair during one of his top starting moments - the first time he played against Manchester United. Throughout the years Ron- aldo stayed true to the Mer- curial collection, having Nike custom making cleats just for him, eventually earning him his own CR7 collection back in 2010 with the Nike Mercu- rial Vapor CR Safari Superf ly II. For 2015/2016 Nike designed a series that was created to chronicle the life of Cristiano Ronaldo. This series includes seven personalised Mercurial Superf ly CR7 boots that will be unveiled one at a time over the next few seasons, repre- senting different moments in Ronaldo's life. Chapter 1 'Savage Beauty', portrayed the volcanic Portu- guese island where the player was born. Chapter 2 – 'Natural Dia- mond ' focuses on Ronaldo's move away from home as a child to pursue his dream of becoming a professional footballer. Ronaldo has called leaving home at the age of 12 the most difficult part of his career so far. Chapter 2 features the CR7 cleats launched this season on April 22 at our stores. De- signed for Ronaldo himself, the CR7 cleats offer high- speed control and lightweight explosiveness. From the glove- like fit to the Vapor traction pattern, every element is de- signed for elite-level play at top speeds. Two of the boots, the Mercu- rial and the Superf ly II are de- signed in an ombre nav y blue further representing his jour- ney and development, and the diamond aspect is highlighted by the sparkle visible in the Swoosh and the CR7 logo. Also present in this season's Mercurial collection that will be available this season in our stores, are the Mercurial Su- perf ly, Victory V and Veloce II which are designed in a white hue with bright fuschia, yel- low, green and orange under- tones, and are all built to offer explosive speed on the field. The final 2 cleats, the Prox- imo and Finale, which feature the same nav y undertones with fuschia and orange hues, are designed to offer the same control and speed for indoor sports. The new Mercurial collec- tion is available at Nike Store at The Point and at Urban Jun- gle – House of Sports outlets across Malta.
