42 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 22 MAY 2016 Fleet expansion for Fahrenheit freight forwarders FAHRENHEIT Freight Forward- ers has introduced six new Iveco Stralis Euro VI trucks to their fleet this year, following another six truck increase in 2015 with the constant aim of providing clients with the best possible service in mind. The truck's capacity ranges from 19 to 44 tonnes with an evolved tector engine that regu- lates emissions due to its elec- tronically governed exhaust flap. The increase in engine power improves comfort thanks to its reduced engine noise and vibrations which naturally pro- vides a higher performance as well as reliable and cost-effective compact solutions. The engine range has been extended while simultaneously minimising fuel consumption and bettering en- gine breaking power to improve the overall safety of the user's experience. The post-system treatment op- timises consumption, reduces system complexities and main- tains the original engine power required by the vehicle. In all, a 2.33% reduce in fuel consump- tion has been noted, making this a cost-effective and envi- ronmentally friendly addition to Fahrenheit's already substan- tially large fleet of trucks. Fahrenheit Freight Forwarders has accumulated over two dec- ades of experience in the sector, and currently owns one of Mal- ta's largest privately owned fleet, with over 200 trailers including reefers, box, tilts, hanging gar- ments and more. The company offers a vast range of specialised services, including haulage in dry and reefer trucks as well as bonded and temperature controlled warehousing. Their aim is to constantly exceed the client's expectation through offering hassle free solutions. This year's coveted title of Company of the Year went to Starling, a team from St Aloysius College, who will be representing Malta in the European Finals to be held in Lucerne, Switzerland in July. Starling will be compet- ing with a product called 'Inno- vase' that completely redesigns the concept of a vase or pot by making use of recycled wine bot- tles. The Finals night ceremony rewards students from post- secondary schools for their ef- forts during the eight month programme that immerses par- ticipants in the world of business through the setting-up of their own mini-company, where they raise share capital, launch and market their idea, and distribute dividends. This year 14 teams from the schools of De La Salle College, G. F. Abela Junior College, Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School, MCAST Institute of Business and Commerce, St. Aloysius College, St. Martin's College, and Verdala International participated. These were APPlause, Blurred, Bubble, Eight, Elevate, Gear, LiNKD, Mavericks, Renascido, Spark'd, Starling, TravelX, Troupe, and Unity. Throughout the programme the teams were judged at various stages and apart from competing for the title of Company of the Year, they were also assessed on different business principles vy- ing for the nine signature awards generously sponsored by a num- ber of leading local and interna- tional corporations. The 2016 Finals saw these sig- nature awards going to a spread of teams from a number of col- leges. Recognising the overall creativity, innovation and quality of the teams' products and ser- vices provided the independent judging panel a tough time in de- ciding the winners.
