44 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 29 MAY 2016 Faceworks adds a giant to its fleet FACEWORKS has come a very long way since it was established eight years ago; over this time, the group has added a total of seven machines to its f leet and in April it proudly wel- comed two new members to its family, the CASE CX470B excavator and the CX17B mini excavator. The com- pany now owns a mixture of excavators, mobile crushers, scissors and trenchers that aid in providing the best service in the demolition, excavation and inert waste recycling industry. Being aware of the dangers that are expected from the industry, the company makes sure to in- vest in the most advanced tech- nology and training for maxi- mum efficiency and the highest form of protection for workers. This is only one of the many ways in which Faceworks con- tinues to prove that the quality of work is one which competi- tors find difficult to match. The continuous introduction of new machinery to the f leet exclusively raises the bar of its service with every imple- mentation. Since its incep- tion, Faceworks has worked vigorously and diligently to become a major player in its sector and continues to invest in its ongoing development to secure its place on the forefront of the industry. The partnership between Coin- treau and Laetitia Casta began in 2015, when she took on the mantle of International Creative Director. Cointreau provided her with its support just a few months later, becoming a patron for her first big screen production: En Moi (In Me), a short film that Thierry Frémaux and Charles Tesson chose to honour for the closing of La Semaine de la Cri- tique. During their very first meeting, Cointreau asked Laetitia Casta what her dreams might be. One of them was to produce her first film – to explore her creativity, to dare and to achieve something in another field: directing. The Cointreau team said that "Laetitia Casta is a passionate, determined and daring woman. Her talent has no limits and her creativity knows no bounds. Her authenticity is rare and extremely precious. Before we even knew what she was going to produce, we wanted to support Laetitia. It is a real honour for la Maison Cointreau, and we are delighted, touched and proud to help La- etitia in her personal artistic en- deavours and to have joined her at La Semaine de la Critique, an event that La Maison Cointreau has supported several times few years ago. This fantastic achieve- ment adds a bit of magic to our shared history. It's wonderful." As Cointreau's Creative Direc- tor, Laetitia Casta wanted to per- petuate the story of Cointreau as well as the commitment and curating of artists. Laetitia Casta also intended to pass down what she herself had received, and worked with Cointreau's teams to create a charity programme, Cointreau Creative Crew, whose aim is to invite women to explore their creativity in order to achieve fulfilment. Cointreau Creative Crew – international by nature – was launched in October 2015 in London, then a few months ago in Africa, and the next stage will be the USA. As concrete action continues to be taken around the world, a whole host of personali- ties have become involved, pro- viding inspiration and proving that dreams can come true. Called 'Made for You' and al- ready in operation in various markets around the world, the system allows McDonald 's crew to prepare all meals at the time of order according to the customers' requests. The system permits more f lexibil- ity, improves serving time and customisation while enhanc- ing quality. Made for You has been in- troduced with a new order- ing concept, where customers now pay and collect the order at different sections of the counter. However, customers do not even have to order or pay at the front counter any- more. Instead, they order at the digital touch screen kiosks in a designated area in the lob- by. Here, they simply scroll up or down the menu to custom- ise their order, confirm their choices, and pay by credit card or with cash at the coun- ter. The order is then received by the kitchen crew who begin to prepare the meal while cus- tomers wait in a dedicated ar- ea, next to the collection zone. McDonald 's Sliema is the first of Malta's nine restau- rants to be converted to the system. The new restaurant which opens in Bugibba in the coming weeks will operate the system immediately. "We are proud to introduce Made for You to Malta at the Sliema restaurant to provide our guests with an even bet- ter, more innovative expe- rience at McDonald 's," Lee Warren, General Manager for McDonald 's in Malta, said. "The conversion of the Sliema restaurant comes af- ter considerable investment and intensive crew training to provide higher quality, fresher food and deliver bet- ter customer service. We will continue the modernisation of the Malta market with the reopening of the Bugibba res- taurant, which will also fea- ture Made for You, while our other seven restaurants will be converted in the coming months." Victor Tedesco, Managing Director of Premier Capital plc, the Malta-owned compa- ny which operates more than 130 McDonald 's restaurants in Estonia, Lat via, Lithuania, Greece and Romania, besides Malta, explained that the lo- cal team benefitted from the experience of similar res- taurant conversions in other markets. "Customer expectation of service is changing," Mr Te- desco said. "For two years we have invested heavily in res- taurant conversion and staff training in the Baltic states and in Greece to serve our customers faster and more ef- ficiently. Our Malta team ben- efitted from the experience we have gained across our network. We are working hard on the evolution of the entire McDonald 's experience in our restaurants by easing pressure on crew and taking service to the next level. Soon, we will be able to grow the menu further and increase capacity to serve even more customers faster. We have many other exciting plans at McDonald 's!"
