As part of a drive to reduce car- bon footprint in Valletta, Citadel Insurance sponsored one of the capital city's electric cars for sev- eral years. This electric cab was branded in green to promote the company's eco products. Anyone using the electric cab rides around Valletta tomorrow will pay only half the fare, as Citadel will be sponsoring the other half. In the build-up to tomorrow, Citadel staff too did their part in reducing emissions by opting for more eco-friendly ways of reach- ing work. Staff turned up for work using public transport and in some cases introduced car-pooling. Some even opted to walk to the office. Citadel Insurance has a proven history of innovation around en- vironmental issues, as evidenced by their Eco Home policy, which maintains special rates on home insurance for clients who have a solar water heater or a PV instal- lation.
