Emirates offers more live sporting action on board EMIR ATES has announced it is adding a second dedicated sports channel to its ice TV Live onboard currently avail- able on over 90 of its Boeing 777 aircraft. Sports 24 Extra will comple- ment the existing Sports 24 channel to offer double the live sports coverage on ice Digital Widescreen – Emir- ates' award-winning in-f light entertainment system. Sports 24 Extra and Sports 24 will offer live matches and coverage of the much an- ticipated top sporting events this summer including UEFA Euro 2016, NBA, Formula 1, Wimbledon, US Open and Moto GP. The two channels will al- so provide live coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympics this August. Fans will have the opportunity to watch the world 's largest sporting event and cheer for their national teams wherever they may be travelling to on Emirates' global network of over 150 destinations. Emirates operates daily scheduled f lights between Malta and Dubai using a larger Boeing 777-300 air- craft. The airline f lies twice weekly to Malta via Larnaca in Cyprus, on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fri- days and Saturdays, Emirates operates the Dubai – Malta route on a circular routing via Tunis in Tunisia. The return f light f lies direct from Malta to Dubai. ice TV Live is now available on over 90 of Emirates' Boeing 777 aircraft Kellogg's sponsored Skolasport ends with a huge sports show SKOLASPORT, organised by Sport- Malta with the continuous support of Kellogg's, concluded the 2015- 2016 programme with a vibrant end-of-year show of sports disci- plines. This annual event was organised at the Marsa Sports Complex where Skolasport participants enjoyed an energetic and colourful show of sport. Participants had an opportunity to be active with their relatives and friends, whilst young participants joined by their parents and sib- lings also tried different activities. Due to a record number of 6,000 participants for the Skolasport programme, the annual manifes- tation has been moved to Sport- Malta's largest outdoor complex in Marsa. Meanwhile, the Cottonera Sport Complex is undergoing a major up- grade in its flooring to reach inter- national competition standards. The parents could appreciate the progress achieved through the pro- gramme. This event was also a showcase for the handball, volleyball, basket- ball and gymnastics academies that were launched this year in collabo- ration with the respective National Sport Associations to help the chil- dren achieve higher levels of perfor- mance. SportMalta Chairman Luciano Busuttil said that this year's pro- gramme welcomed a record break- ing 6,000 participants, with a marked increased enrolment for adult classes and a significant in- crease in the number of different sports offered He thanked Kellogg's for their continued support and said that SportMalta will be continuing in its mission to get sports and physi- cal activity into part of the lives of the Maltese community. Mr Mark Cutajar, CEO SportMal- ta, thanked the coaches for their dedication and expressed his grati- tude to the parents who believe in SportMalta's commitment in pro- viding the best sports programme by choosing year after year to enrol their children in both the winter and the summer programmes. Chris Agius, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sports expressed his satisfaction with the record participation in this year's programme.
