Organised by the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci and in collaboration with the French Embassy in Malta. JUNE 21 Tango Duo at Strada Stretta Open-air tango event by Strada Stretta Concept, at Strait Street, Valletta from 20:30. The event features Cristina Vilallonga, (voice of Gotan Project) & Mari- sa Mercadé, on bandoneon. JUNE 24, 25 L-Għana tas-Sirena Original musical based on the history of Senglea at Teatru tas- Sede tal-Azzjoni Kattolika, Triq il-Vitorja, Senglea at 19:30. Fea- turing Marvic Baldacchino, Joy Attard, Gabriel Farrugia, Astrid Cacciatore, Ivan Vella and Mar- tina Livori. Choir under the di- rection of Fr Aurelio Mulestag- no; theatrical direction by Pierre Bonello. Entrance is free. Organ- ised by the Salesian NGO Home Away from Home and supported by the Creative Communities Fund of the Malta Arts Fund. JUNE 25 Rock Ambjent #2 – Power in Unity Alternative music festival aiming to raise environmen- tal awareness at Funky Mon- key, Gzira from 21:00. Featur- ing Fuzzhoneys, Pyramid Suns, Cryptic Street and Chris Ra- dium. Entrance is against a €5 donation. The event is being supported by nine organisations: Moviment Graffitti, Friends of the Earth - Malta, Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, Nature Trust Malta, BirdLife Malta, Malta Organic Agriculture Movement, Gender Liberation, Zminijietna - Voice of the Left and Youth 4 the Environment. JULY 6 Flora's Live Music Wednesdays Week 1 – Ft. Warren & Jes First of the Flora's Live Music Wednesday's at Flora's, Naxxar at 20:00. The debut edition will feature a jazz concert from Jes Psaila and Warren Galea. Book- ings: 2141 0020. JULY 8 Krishna – Seeker of Light album launch Album launch concert for pro- gressive metal band Krishna at Electro Lobster Project, Balluta, St Julian's at 21:00. Supported by Eyes to Argus. Entrance is at €5, €8 with CD. JULY 9 Xtreme Metal Assault Heavy metal music festival at Corradino Old Military Prison, Paola from 16:00. Featuring: 12th Ode, 26 other worlds, A broken design, Abysmal Torment, Ani- mamortua (ex-Relicuia), Angel- crypt, Ascendor, Blind Saviour, Bound to Prevail, Fallen Icon, Khaospath (SWE), Kill em all (session band), Ktinodia, Loathe and Thy legion. Entrance is at €15. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL JUNE 26 Stejjer Imfewħa – A Multi- Disciplinary Exhibition Stejjer Imfewħa – A Multi-Dis- ciplinary Exhibition dwells into different forms of expression such as installation art, written and sound art, photography, per- formance and drawing. Taking place at the Inquisitor's Palace, Birgu. This exhibition presents the results of a collective assem- ble of research and information, presented in a creative way so as to ensure audience gain experi- ence and also award experience. Featuring artists: Amy Borg, Glen Calleja, Guido Lanfranco, Sarah Mamo and Kasia Zmokla. Curated by Sabrina Calleja Jack- son. UNTIL JULY 3 Materia: Ritus MATERIA is a project con- ceived by artist, Adrian Abela, and is part of the 'CHARTI' pro- ject, held in collaboration with Valletta 2018, where the main aim is to reinterpret traditional elements of the Maltese festa, giving them relevance within the contemporary international setting. Taking place at Spazju Kreattiv (St James Cavalier), Val- letta.
