JULY 15-17 Bay Stage powered by Trackage Scheme at the Sliema Arts Festival The main stage called the Bay Area – powered by Trackage Scheme will showcase an eclec- tic selection of artists including bands, DJs/producers and solo musicians at Independence Gar- dens, Sliema from 19:00. Fea- turing: Stalko, Falcon's Flying Circus, Pyramid Suns, Lucy's Last, CRUX, Jack 's Fusion, Se- quenchill, Frankie Calleja, Rob- ert Farrugia, Stimulus Timbre, Chris Tanti, Fabricka and KN- TRL. JULY 21-23 Malta Jazz Festival The 26th edition of the Malta Jazz Festival – taking place at Ta' Liesse, Valletta from 20:00 – intends to create a vibrant jazz atmosphere all around Val- letta. The events of Thursday night have been shifted from Ta' Liesse to Valletta centre with free concerts featuring headlin- ers. The festival also strives to reach out to wider and younger audiences. The programme for this summer is highly eclectic and will feature a diversity of styles. The festival, like previous years, will include some of the most significant bands and mu- sicians in the music sector such as Mike Stern/Bill Evans band, Snarky Puppy and Omer Avital. JULY 27-31 Malta International Music Competition 2016 Taking place at Mdina Local Council at 07:00, MIMC as- sists emerging pianists, violin- ists, guitarists, composers and chamber music ensembles in their artistic development, en- courages them to pursue careers and to provide a forum for their talents.
