AUGUST 23-25 Kelma Kelma Nota Nota Three concerts combining Maltese music and literature at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta at 21:00. The first concert – Tlaqna Nghabbu – will be taking place between June 21 and 23; the second – Kuncert Bla Vat – between June 26 and 28 and Ghal Kbar Biss between August 23 and 25. Featuring Daniel Cauchi and the Big Band Brothers, Ray Calleja and Michael Spagnol. BOOK LAUNCH AUGUST 10 Book launch: A Materialist Revision of Maltese History by Mark Camilleri Book launch of historian Mark Camilleri's book A Materialist Revision of Maltese History: 870- 1919 at The Fortress Builders Interpretation Centre, Valletta at 19:30. Inf luenced by Hegelian philosophy and Marxist materialism, the book poses new critical perspectives based on previously known and accepted historical data. Some interesting primary sources of note, which will be revealed for the first time, include the police logbooks of the early 20th century. MISCELLANEOUS EVENTS AUGUST 6 Gozo Ceramics Festival 2016 The Gozo Culture Office and Munxar Local Council assisted by event organizer and ceramist Joan Haber are organizing the Second Gozo Ceramics Festival which will take place at Xlendi Bay on the 6th August from 19.00 hrs onwards. It will be a very animated evening activity buzzing with people, creativity, art and jazzy music. For the evening the Xlendi Administrative Committee will be illuminating the bay with the now famous magical fjakkolata. AUGUST 10 Zejtun Heritage Treasure Hunt Żejtun Organisation to Empower You (ŻOEY), will be a organising a fun treasure hunt for children and youths, around the historic streets of Żejtun from 18:00 onwards. Meeting place: Ġnien l-Għannejja Żwieten (known as St Gregory's Garden). Required: Camera (mobile camera also can be used) Application: FREE. AUGUST 4-7 Delicata Classic Wine Festival Annual wine festival organized by Delicata and held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta from 19:00. Entrance is free. To sample the wines simply purchase a wristband for the night and a souvenir glass (which is then yours to keep) upon entrance to the gardens. The last glasses and wristbands are sold at 23:00, the last wine is poured at 23:30 and the festival closes at midnight. No glasses or bottles will be sold or alcohol poured to anyone under the age of 17. Entertainers will be performing throughout the three nights and a variety of cuisines will be served with a dining area, enjoying breath- taking views of the 'Fliegu', being set up every night. Above all, visitors will be able to sample over 20 of Delicata's D.O.K. and I.G.T Maltese wines including Victoria Heights from Gozo, Gran Cavalier, Grand Vin de Hauteville, Medina, Frizzantes, Classic Collection, Dolcino and many more.
