maltatoday, SUNDAY, 14 AUGUST 2016 IV Fuel & Logistics DHL expands Airfreight Plus network to Russia and CIS region THE air freight solution provides custom- ers with intra-European or intra-Asian door-to-door air transportation for cargo up to two tons • DHL Global Forwarding adds Moscow and Russia's major cities to DHL Airfreight Plus network by mid-year 2016 • Further expansion into Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) by end of year • Cost-efficient door-to-door product meets increasing market demand for eco- nomic air freight solutions DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group is revamping its DHL Airfreight Plus service and increasing its total reach to 54 countries by integrating Moscow and Russia's major cities into the product's network. The air freight solution provides custom- ers with intra-European or intra-Asian door-to-door air transportation for cargo up to two tons. Businesses have access to more than 11,000 daily departures across Europe and Asia carried out by DHL's owned fleet as well as commercial carri- ers. So far, customers can pick between 31 European and 22 Asian destinations. Integration of Moscow and Russia's major cities to the network will be complete by mid-year 2016 with further expansion into Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) by the end of the year. "We have noticed a switch from overnight demand to more economical distribution solutions, and thus an increasing demand for our DHL Airfreight Plus product," says Ingo-Alexander Rahn, Global Head of Air Freight, DHL Global Forwarding. "By offer- ing scheduled deliveries and a choice of transit times and various service benefits at a simple all-inclusive rate for end-to-end shipping, we meet our customer's needs for cost effective transport options, while growing our air freight business and foot- print in Europe and Asia." Air freight market demands flexible transportation options Depending on their respective needs, customers can choose between three day-definite transit times: Within Europe, they can select from Priority (1-2 days), Classic (2-3 days) and Deferred (2-5 days) services. In Asia Pacific, customers select from Classic or Deferred. Flexibility is provided by the option to schedule later pick up times and earlier deliveries as well as the possibility to ship oversized and dangerous cargo. DHL Airfreight Plus also offers customers extensive support of industry experts that can tailor solutions to meet the specific needs of the customers' cargo type. In combination with a simple all-inclusive pricing system, the product is tailor-made for companies which demand a time and, above all, cost efficient logistics solution.
