New APS publication features paintings by intergenerational artists THE third and final publication of APS Bank 's three-year project Two Generations of Maltese Ar- tistic Families was launched on Thursday, October 20th at the APS Head Office in Swatar. This volume features the late Giuseppe Cassar and his daugh- ter Maria Rossella Dalmas, as well as Albert Joseph Caruana and his daughter Doranne Al- den Caruana. Works by each of the four artists are also on ex- hibit at the APS Head Office. While inaugurating the exhi- bition, Mr E.P. Delia, Chairman of APS Bank, said that the com- mon thread between these four artists is the way in which they edged themselves gradually to- wards art which "was initially a pastime but became a vocation". Dr Louis Laganà, exhibition curator and book editor, spoke of how Cassar, Dalmas, and the Caruanas contribute to the evo- lution of landscape painting in Malta, and although they "de- pict a topographical and varied representation of the Maltese landscape, they focus on the heritage and identity of what is Maltese". The book may be purchased for €25 either from the APS Head Office in Swatar or on- line from http://apsbank.trol- leymania.com/. The exhibi- tion is open to the public until Thursday, December 1st, 2016. Opening hours are from Mon- day to Friday between 08.15hrs and 13:30hrs and on Saturdays between 8.15hrs and 11.45hrs. Doranne Alden Caruana and Albert Joseph Caruana Nestlé Malta takes part in children's story telling IN one of the activities to com- memorate Nestlé's 150th anni- versary, Nestlé Malta hosted an animated children's story telling event at the President's Kitchen Garden in Attard. Nestlé Malta's Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager, Alfred J Borg, ex- plained that "Nestlé Malta is constantly encouraging, through its communication and activities, a balanced and healthy lifestyle. During this particular year, we are further promoting other as- pects of life, such as promoting reading and the importance of literacy amongst young children. By focusing on animated story telling, we are encouraging our children to acquire a love for reading. Organizing this at the President's secret garden further enhances the right ambience to this activity" This enchanting story tell- ing event took place on Satur- day, 22nd October from 9:00 to 11.00am. On arrival the chil- dren were escorted to the secret garden by the President's person- nel where Nestlé Malta employ- ees read abstracts from It-Tif la tal-Barnuza Hamra, Il-Fenek u I-Fekruna, Tom Sawyer, Heidi, Treasure Island, and Around the world in 80 days. The stories were read in both English and Maltese while animators acted various role plays. 2017 Harley Davidson Low Rider S conquers our roads DUBBED as the Back Alley Brawler, the 2017 H-D Low rider S is a combination of Dark Custom style and in- credible performance. When the Low Rider S made its first appearance on the market 40 years ago, it pushed the limits of factory design to higher levels never achieved before, and the new model is now taking the genre to an all-powerful new edge. Its sig- natory bold black presence has been accentuated by means of gold accents, like the tank badge and pinstripe, together with a match- ing split five-spoke cast aluminum wheels. From the fixed speed screen in the front to the chopped fender in the rear, it is raw custom style turned into dark metal, but its major component is the blacked- out Screaming Eagle Air-Cooled Twin Cam 110 engine. Pre- mium front and rear suspen- sion, tall bars, scooped seat and mid-mount controls are all responsible for that ag- gressive riding position, and they are all blacked out! This bike is highly maneuverable, and with its style and perfor- mance it is entirely what one could ask for a Harley. Fapi Motors is primarily in- volved in the importation and distribution of Harley-David- son motorcycles and accessories. Send an e-mail to info@FapiMo- tors.com.mt or visit the showroom in Imdina Road, Attard, for more information.
