The Dubliner was fighting for the fourth time in 12 months but MMA fans will have to wait to see their he- ro in action again as he is planning to take time off to become a father. UFC president Dana White con- firmed in an interview with the LA Times that 'Notorious' will take time away from the sport to focus on his family. "He won't fight before May," said White. "His girlfriend gets super stressed out when he fights. He doesn't want her having any of that stress while she's pregnant. "He's good. He should take time off. He's been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It's good for him and her and it's good for the baby." Conor McGregor is planning to take time out to become a father WAYNE Rooney believes he was the victim of "disgraceful" treat- ment following the publication of photos that showed him so- cialising at England's team hotel when on international duty last weekend. The England and Manchester United captain said he was shown a "lack of respect" by the media after he joined in a wedding party in between the matches against Scotland and Spain. Rooney received criticism in some quarters, and backing in others, after the photos were sold to a newspaper and he ended up "unreservedly" apologising to in- terim England manager Gareth Southgate over the images which he did say were "inappropriate" for someone in his position. After United's 1-1 Premier League draw with Arsenal on Saturday he was in less apologetic mood, annoyed the furore over his behaviour had failed to sub- side in the media. "What's been going on is dis- graceful," Rooney told reporters. "I'm proud to play for my coun- try and I'm proud of my achieve- ments. "It's not finished yet. I think what's been going on is disgrace- ful. It shows a lack of respect and I think enough is enough. That's all I want to say." United manager Jose Mourinho defended his captain on Friday, blaming England for not protect- ing him. Rooney slams 'disgraceful' treatment over photos Wayne Rooney
