45 Events maltatoday, SUNDAY, 26 FEBRUARY 2017 Winter weddings in lush and picturesque Malta The Maltese Islands are, indisput- ably, an outstanding location for both local and foreign weddings. The islands have all the right in- gredients for the most romantic wedding recipe, whatever your particular taste. The island's brave and colourful history lends itself to setting the most dramatic scene for a wedding, with the iconic ar- chitecture evident in every corner of the islands. Malta is regarded as one of the most friendly and safe countries in the world – appealing to those who are keen in finding a suitable foreign destination. The crystal blue waters surrounding the is- lands bring the perfect photo opportunity, and of course the climate – rated as one of the best in the world – is an instant advan- tage. Increasingly however, brides- to-be, grooms-in-waiting and rel- evant family members are steer- ing away from the peak weddings seasons and the height of summer, and looking to Winter Weddings as a viable alternative. This may be for a variety of rea- sons; weather is certainly a key factor; Maltese winters are lush and picturesque with green fields and winter flowers, and whilst sunshine is not guaranteed, wed- ding parties are not in fear of the intense heat of the Maltese sum- mer, and the effect this might have on the guests. Husbands and brides-to-be cer- tainly have more options avail- able in the shoulder months, with venues, caterers, entertainment, florists and other wedding sup- pliers enjoying the freedom of a less intense booking schedule and therefore able to be more flexible. For some services, price also plays a role. Winter weddings also offer some cost saving options, certainly for those travelling to Malta to get married, as flights and accommo- dation are undoubtedly cheaper off-season. While high season weddings can rely on the almost-guaranteed weather to make any wedding oc- casion stunning, the impact of a winter wedding however relies on quality of the venue. Providing an outstanding, unique and original alternative to run-of-the-mill wedding venue is The Club House, with the ad- joining Vault. These venues are genuinely steeped in history and provide a location with charac- ter. Nesting under the watchful eye of Mdina, The Club House is a purposefully converted Hunting Lodge, whose origins date back to the time of knights, around the 16th Century. The venue boasts a scenic set- ting, surrounded by fields and a perfectly restored building but with all the modern conveniences you would expect from a wedding venue. It caters for the needs of all guests: The Court Yard provides the perfect dance floor, The Up- per Level is great for guests who want to chat on a sofa whilst still being able to watch the party rev- ellers and The Library gives the older guests somewhere to rest their feet and chat. Ample out- door space surrounding the venue provides limitless parking, along with photo opportunity options. Perhaps the true gem of the lo- cation is The Vault; the subter- ranean venue adjoining The Club House. Without fail, guests to the venue simply mouth the word 'wow!' as they descend into the completely unique and one-of-a- kind venue, originally the stables serving the hunting lodge above. The Vault provides the perfect location for a wedding after party. Once the older guests have headed home, the party crowd can head to the dance floor in The Vault with their DJ guiding them into the early hours. No one ever for- gets a party in The Vault. Any description can set the scene for a bride and groom, but visiting the venue will most cer- tainly enrapture you. Unique venues for off-site meetings It is well understood and acknowl- edged by the business world that an off-site location for a meeting, seminar, training day, team build- ing programme or brainstorm can have a profound effect on its out- come. Motivation and productiv- ity have been identified as the two key elements making a difference to the work place. Employees must be able to grow, inspire and engage with others in order to fulfil their potential, and off-site activities have been identi- fied as a key player in maintaining teams and individuals creativity and problem solving to an opti- mum. In a Work Lab report, five dis- tinct effects are identified as the direct benefits of holding off-site meetings: morale, providing a fresh perspective, increasing pro- ductivity, inclusion of new tech- nology, and inspiring creativity. And whilst onsite meetings may be perceived as more cost effec- tive, findings show that the expo- nential benefits make an off-site meeting commercially worth- while. Of course, the off-site location must be conducive to the objec- tive. Moving from an office set- ting to hotel function room will not necessarily achieve the de- sired outcome. Providing a setting outside of preconceived expecta- tions will disarm attendees from creating their own anticipated results and create a genuine plat- form for interaction and creative thinking. The Club House and The Vault, limits of Rabat, provide the per- fect setting for such offsite activi- ties. These venues are genuinely steeped in history and provide a location with character. The Club House is a purposefully converted Hunting Lodge, whose origins date back to the time of knights, around the 16th Century. The venue's Court Yard provides a central meeting area for lectures, seminars or training. The Upper Level provides similar opportuni- ties, but for smaller numbers – or as a break out area. The Library is also an excellent for a break out area, or for an in- timate theatre style or classroom style arrangement. The stunning and completely unique subterra- nean Vault below The Club House can be either used for additional meetings, brainstorming activi- ties, team building or the social activities to round up a day of pro- ductivity. The venues also provide the per- fect setting for downtime bond- ing over lunch or a coffee break outside of the run-of-the-mill location. Set in open fields under the watchful eye of Mdina, par- ticipants will certainly feel like they have escaped from the office environment for the day, invok- ing a mental state of openness and being receptive to a creative day ahead. The purposefully converted venues provide all of the facili- ties, of course, that you would expect from a modern location – wifi, sounds systems and limit- less parking all come as part of the venue offering, with any techni- cal requirements tailored to your needs. Visit the venues to see how they can benefit your business. Drop the team a line on 9974 8923 or hello@innoventmalta.com to book your show round.
