maltatoday, WEDNESDAY, 8 MARCH 2017 17 Events Baladin voted Brewery of the Year 2017 by Unionbirrai BALADIN has been voted 'Brew- ery of the Year 2017' by the in- ternational jury of the 'Birra dell'Anno' competition organised by Unionbirrai. This recent award was com- municated by Baladin with pride as this important accom- plishment is the result of the work of a great group commit- ted to transmitting a philosophy of thought as well as the support of the visionary dimension of its founder, Teo Musso. This is an achievement ob- tained in a very special moment of the history of a brewery that has recently moved to a new production plant where the gold medal winner Nazionale Beer has seen the light. Teo Musso, founder of Baladin Brewery, said "I am just so hap- py, especially for the gold medal awarded to the Nazionale. I have been working for ten years at the project of a beer that is 100% Italian." Unionbirrai is a cultural asso- ciation whose aim is to promote the culture of craft beer in Italy. Started in 2000, the association has evolved over the years, with the changing trends, to become today an association that seeks dialogue with manufacturers, tasters, merchants and consum- ers. Unionbirrai is a member of the European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU).
