Wiggins defends his integrity after allegations of wrongdoing BRADLEY Wiggins has de- scribed allegations that he may have broken anti-doping rules while with Team Sky as "the worst thing to be accused of " and said he would "shock a few people" when he eventually got the chance to defend himself. Team Sky have come under the microscope in recent months af- ter a UK Anti-Doping investiga- tion was launched into a package ordered by former team doctor Richard Freeman and delivered to Wiggins at the 2011 Criterium du Dauphine race. Wiggins, a five-time Olympic champion and the 2012 Tour de France winner, welcomed the investigation in an interview with Sky Sports' Soccer AM pro- gramme. "It's the worst thing to be ac- cused of as a man of my integrity given what I believe and what I've done to get to where I am today," said Wiggins, who retired from cycling in December. "But ... there is an investigation under way and I can't say too much but that will run its course. Eventually I will get my say and there is a lot to say. It's going to shock a few people." Team Sky boss Dave Brailsford has told British lawmakers that the package contained the legal decongestant Fluimucil, although the lack of a paper trail has called into question Sky's medical re- cord-keeping. Sky denied any doping violations. Alex Borg Bradley Wiggins Chinese investors create new firm to finalise purchase of AC Milan Chinese investors create new firm to finalise Germany's Ozil still doubtful for Azerbaijan qualifier - Loew CHINESE investors set to buy AC Milan have created a new company structure in Luxem- bourg to finalise acquisition of the Serie A soccer club, a spokes- man for the consortium said on Saturday. Rossoneri Sport Investment Lux will replace the Chinese bidding group, identified by AC Milan's owners as Sino-Europe Sports Investment Management Changxing Co Ltd, the spokes- man said in a statement, adding that the new entity was con- trolled by investor Li Yonghong. The company is "completely external to China", the statement said. The accord - originally inked in August and expected to be signed off first in December and then in March - is set to be finalised on April 14, the state- ment added. The original agreement val- ues the club at 740 million eu- ros ($780 million) including 220 million euros of debt. GERMANY midfielder Mesut Ozil is doubtful ftoday's World Cup 2018 qualifier at Azerbaijan after receiving treatment for a back injury, coach Joachim Loew said yesterday. Ozil, who missed their 1-0 friendly win over England on Wednesday, skipped Friday's training session before the team headed for Baku and will have to wait until later on Saturday for a final decision, the coach said. "Yesterday Sami Khedira, Mario Gomez and Julian Draxler trained normally with no problems at all," Loew told reporters in Baku. The three players were also sidelined for the England game. "Everyone trained apart from Mesut," Loew said. "He will have to wait until the last training (ses- sion). He had back problems and received treatment yesterday and today. We will train today and then decide." Loew said he was planning to start with Benedikt Hoewedes as a partner to Mats Hummels in the central defence, replacing An- tonio Ruediger, who had started against England. He also confirmed Khedira would be the team captain, in the absence of keeper Manuel Neuer. The world champions are five points clear at the top of qualify- ing Group C, having won all four of their matches so far. "It is the first qualifier for some time and for us the aim is clearly defined," said Loew, who led them to the 2014 World Cup title. "We want to finish the qualifiers until the summer without losing a point. We play San Marino in June. So we have to get the three points here."
