Tarxien started on the attack and were close after four min- utes. From a corner, Ayrton Azzopardi delivered a cross that was met by Ebiabowei Baker who headed slightly over. On the 11th minute, the Rain- bows had another attempt on goal. Julian Galea sent a cross towards Matthew Brincat whose header was saved by Matthew Calleja Cremona. Calleja Cremona denied Brin- cat once more on the 19th min- ute. The twenty-year old hit a low shot from the edge of the penalty area which Calleja Cremona saved without much difficulty. Pembroke responded on the 38th minute. Emmanuel Naate fired a shot from distance that went high. On the 40th minute, Tarxien were close again. Alex De Paix- ao Alves passed the ball inside the penalty area towards Alex Nillson. However, the Swedish striker saw his close range effort going off target. Two minutes into the second half, Daniel Ponce De Leon Gar- cia saw space and sent a shot from outside the penalty area that ended up wide. Tarxien kept on pushing for- ward and had another chance on goal on the 62nd minute. Follow- ing a cross, Galea served Nillson and the Tarxien forward sent a shot that ended up centimetres wide. A minute later, Pembroke man- aged to go ahead. Stevan Racic was brought down inside the penalty area by Baker and the referee ordered a penalty. Racic took charge of the penalty and converted past Philip Schranz. Tarxien equalised on the 73rd minute through another penalty. Zoran Levnaic fouled De Paixao Alves inside the penalty area and the referee whistled for another penalty. From the penalty spot, Azzopardi made no mistake and finished behind Calleja Cremo- na. On the 80th minute, Ponce tried his luck from distance but his shot sailed wide of the post. Pemroke ended up in ten men on the 86th minute. Iraklis Rop- pas used his hands to block a cross and the referee showed him his second yellow card.
