51 Events maltatoday SUNDAY 26 NOVEMBER 2017 Brand new AUDI A1 awarded to lucky Coca-Cola winner THE lucky winner of the Coca- Cola Drink and Win Campaign, Krista Mallia was presented with the keys to her brand new AUDI A1 car by Maurice Mizzi, Managing Director at Conti- nental Cars Ltd, together with Maria Micallef, Chief Opera- tions Officer at GSD Marketing Ltd, during a prize-giving event held at the Continental Cars Ltd showroom in Ta' Xbiex. Mallia's code was drawn from a total of more than 110,000 codes in a random draw which took place on 1 November 2017 at GSD Marketing Ltd in Marsa, in the presence of Public No- tary Dr Rosella Soler as well as Adrian Mizzi and Kenneth Far- rugia, external auditors from KPMG, who validated the draw mechanism and oversaw the en- tire process. Sales and Market- ing representatives from GSD Marketing Ltd and Continental Cars Ltd were also present. One can view the video of the draw on the brand 's Facebook page, MyCoke Malta. "We are proud to have had a hugely successful campaign and it is with great enthusiasm that we announce the lucky winner for this grand prize, which has been made possible thanks to our collaboration with Con- tinental Cars Ltd," said Kyra Meli, Head of Marketing at GSD Marketing Ltd., during the draw. The 'Coca-Cola Drink & Win Campaign' ran between the months of June and October across the Coca-Cola variants, namely Coca-Cola Original, Coca-Cola Zero and Diet Coca- Cola. Consumers were required to look for the gift or code writ- ten under the cap of partici- pating products. 18,000 gifts were available including sum- mer and music related Coca- Cola branded merchandise and other items such as tickets to various summer music events taking place on the island. In addition, consumers were given the opportunity to find and en- ter the unique codes on the My Coke online portal, giving them the chance to win the grand prize, the fabulous Audi A1 car. The winner Krista Mallia was invited to Continental Cars Ltd. on Tuesday 14 November to redeem the grand prize. "I could not believe it at first!" she exclaimed. "I thought it was a joke and I even made my sister call back to confirm it was all true, since I was so thrilled." "We are certain that Ms Mal- lia will come to appreciate the innovation and technology that is synonymous with the Audi brand while experiencing the magic of 'Advancement through Technology', first-hand " Mau- rice Mizzi said. Five social projects receive much needed funding at the 2017 Malta Social Impact Awards THE second edition of the Social Impact Awards was held last week at Le Meridien. Eight social projects were pitched to a full audience of philanthropists, businesses and individu- als interested in being part of a change. The awards offer the opportunity of both financial and non-financial support to implement social projects which will have a positive impact on the community. This second edition of these awards saw €128,600 given out as grants. Five of the fi- nalists won support and the winning project, Enlight: Promoting Mental Health, Prevent- ing Mental Illness through a free walk-in clinic for students at Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary submitted by OOPS the Organisa- tion of Psychology Students, received a grant of €40,000 and pro-bono services from PWC Malta. The Social Impact Awards is organised by The Gasan Foundation and Inspirasia Foun- dation Malta, and this year Mediterranean Bank, part of the MeDirect Group came on board as headline sponsor. Other financial awards were sponsored by Betsson Group, Oliver Voigt and Wigna Court Museum. The aim of the initiative is to bring the pri- vate and social projects closer together to of- fer opportunities for financial and non-finan- cial support to develop and see to fruition a project that will have a positive social impact on Malta. The other projects that won were Happy Children by Friendship Cards that received a €35,000 grant, Hospice Malta for the After Hours Call Services were awarded €20,000 and Sports4Youth submitted by Malta Youth Athletes Network won €20,000. An impres- sive €5,300 was donated by the audience for the Audience Participation award which went to Migrant Women Association project SAHA!, a health, international cuisine food truck that employs and empowers migrant women. They were also awarded the ZAAR crowd funding campaign matched by CORE platform and an additional grant. The awards for SAHA amounted to €16,600. All winning projects will receive pro-bono services from PWC Malta and mentoring services. All finalists had strong interesting projects and these included iContribute, Greenroads Malta and Giving Gardens by Terra Firma Collective.
