maltatoday WEDNESDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2018 17 Events Create the home of the future with GO ANYONE who has ever want- ed to build their own domes- tic robot or create an innova- tive home automation system now has the opportunity to turn their idea into a real- ity. This is possible following a decision by GO to launch a new 'Home of the Future' initiative, through which up to €9,000 in funding is being made available immediately. This first round of funding for 'Home of the Future' pro- jects will focus primarily on the use of technology, smart devices including robotic arms, and robots, supported by fibre connectivity, within the living room. Any individual, or group of individuals up to a maxi- mum of six participants, is welcome to submit an idea. All the ideas received will be reviewed by an expert panel which will then interview shortlisted applicants to de- termine both the feasibility of the proposed project and the technical ability of applicants to complete it. Three projects will be chosen, each receiv- ing up to €3,000 in funding. Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to demonstrate their ideas at the Malta Robotics Olympiad, taking place on 20 – 22 April 2018. Daniela Bagnaschi, Senior Manager – Marketing at GO, said "GO has always been at the forefront of connectivity. From the telegraph through to Fibre internet we have al- ways given Malta the latest technology, helping individu- als and businesses to ful- fil their aspirations. We are now on the cusp of the next revolution. The Internet of Things combined with Arti- ficial Intelligence will bring new levels of automation into our lives. Intelligent systems, devices and robots, at home and at work, will become an everyday reality. Through various initiatives, including the new 'Home of the Future' project, GO continues to sup- port Malta in making the most of this new reality." Full details on the 'Home of the Future' initiative and application forms can be ob- tained by sending an email to paul.demicoli@go.com.mt Dhalia sponsorship for 'Breast Foot Forward' DHALIA Real Estate Services sponsored the running group 'Breast Foot Forward' as they took on the challenge of the Malta Half Marathon & Walka- thon in aid of Action for Breast Cancer Foundation Malta. "Huge thanks to Dhalia for their support and Dhalia em- ployee, Camille Felice who ac- companied us on throughout this challenge," said team leader Francesca Pisani. "It's such a generous donation towards our goal." The funds raised were donat- ed to Action for Breast Cancer Foundation Malta. They will be used to continue to provide ser- vices and treatment for breast cancer patients and their fami- lies. Running and walking in support of Action for Breast Cancer Foundation Malta The Concept Stadium re-brands Bonnici Brothers – a leader in the construction industry BONNICI Bros Ltd, the found- ing company of the Bonnici Group, providing a multitude of services to private, com- mercial, industrial and na- tional construction sectors, and working on major projects throughout the island; has un- dergone a major rebranding exercise. Re-branded by the Concept Stadium, the challenge was to create a brand that was contem- porary yet reflected the legacy of Bonnici Brothers. This was achieved by careful attention to detail whilst being sensitive to the company's history. The choice of typeface was deter- mined to reflect the industry in which Bonnici Brothers plays a leading role; coupled with clean lines and solidity, and play of white space to give the identity a more established presence. In addition, colour played a crucial role in this project. Yel- low and Blue have been a pre- dominant characteristic in the history of Bonnici Brothers. The use of these colours was therefore a natural choice to ensure continuity. Whilst they create an interesting play on contrast and clarity, they both have a strong visual presence as well as their historic relevance to the brand's history. In addition, the Concept Sta- dium designed and developed a new, customer centric web- site for Bonnici Brothers. The new website offers easier and quicker access to essential in- formation about the company, with a clear visual element of their product and project of- fering. Having a contemporary and visually attractive design, the website was designed with user experience in mind and includes all the service offer- ings of the company, past pro- jects, testimonials and a ca- reers page. "We have worked closely with Bonnici Brothers to develop a brand with longevity in mind as well as a website with a par- ticular focus on content that works well across all screen sizes and can provide updates on all the projects entrusted to Bonnici Brothers," commented Jonathan Dalli and Jonathan Chetcuti, Founders and Direc- tors at the Concept Stadium. "We also made sure that not only do we include updates on projects themselves, but to also offer a medium whereby users can visually see these projects through from start to comple- tion. We strive to understand the audience of our customers, this is why we call ourselves a bunch of commercial crea- tives". The newly-designed website can be accessed through www. bonnicibros.com. CareMalta team goes the extra mile to mark silver anniversary 66 individuals representing Malta's leading care provid- er, CareMalta celebrated the company's silver anniversary in style by either running or walking the Vodafone Malta Half Marathon/walkathon re- spectively last Sunday. The team included group chairman Nazzareno Vassallo, group CEO, Pio Vassallo and CareMalta CEO, Natalie Briffa Farrugia among other direc- tors, managers and employees who took up what was aptly called the #zerototwenty- five. The challenge's aim was to symbolise the company's 25-year journey in this sector which started in 1993. For the past four months the group has been undergoing in- tensive training sponsored by CareMalta led by professional coaches from the I & J fitness team. Amongst those who ran the half marathon, Care- Malta's finance director, James Sciriha who is also an avid runner and member of Mellie- ha AC, placed 20th overall and 10th amongst the Maltese par- ticipants. 27 participants opted to run whilst 39 opted to take part in the walkathon. Commenting on this initia- tive CareMalta CEO Natalie Briffa Farrugia said that the aim of the challenge was not solely to promote physical ac- tivity as part of agency's belief to promote a healthy lifestyle. "We wanted this to symbolise CareMalta's 25-year journey in the elderly sector. Experience shows that we could only get to the point we are at through re- silience, dedication, ambition and teamwork," he said. "Ultimately our vision for the future, which made us enter this sector, is what will guide us to continue to break new ground. New challenges will arise that need experienced leaders in this sector to tackle them effectively. CareMalta aspires to keep contributing in this sector as it did in the past." More initiatives are planned to mark this anniversary amongst them the launch of ICare – a service excellence programme for all employees, the Nazzer- eno Vassallo Award for elderly care in the community, the in- auguration of the refurbished Villa Messina and big celebra- tion at Casa Arkati, the com- pany's first home, in August.
