Steward Health Care Malta launches 'I am a Steward' campaign STEWARD Health Care Malta has just launched its first advertising campaign titled "I am a Steward", featuring a host of clinical and non-clinical staff from Karin Grech Hospital and Gozo General Hospital. The campaign plays on the meaning of the word 'Steward', which refers to a person who actively manages affairs, and looks after people, in this case people's health. The tagline for the campaign, "Stew- ards of your health. Treating care as a calling.", further emphasises the mean- ing of the word 'Steward' and focuses on how working in health care is a vocation for the vast majority of workers. The pur- pose of the campaign is to celebrate the company's hard-working employees and recognize that these 'Stewards' are the biggest asset of the organisation. Commenting on the new campaign, Steward Health Care Malta Communi- cations Director Alessandra Pace stated, "This is an important campaign which focuses on the human side of the or- ganisation. Steward Health Care Malta is made up of over 1500 talented and en- thusiastic professionals who make a sig- nificant difference in their community every single day. Through this campaign, we'll be sharing the experiences of our employees and giving the public insight on what motivates our people to work in health care". After taking over the public private partnership last February, Steward Health Care Malta has held discussions with several unions to provide them and their members with peace of mind with regards to employee conditions and with regards to the company's plans. In the coming weeks, the company will be re- vealing more news on developments that are in progress. A fresh BNF Sports and Social Committee THE BNF Sports and Social Committee are responsible for the planning and execution of social events for the BNF Bank employees, family and friends throughout the year. This year the BNF Sports and Social Committee has been selected based on the recommenda- tions made by each Head of Department. Activities organised by the BNF Sports and Social Committee vary, from sports and ad- ventures to culture, social or philanthropic events. The BSSC kicked off their first event with a tour around the Brewery to discover the culture behind the making of the local beer and its origination. This event was then followed by the tasting of local and foreign beers coupled with food pairing. "Such events are key for all the team to get together and a fine excuse to share new experiences in an environment away from the office," said Chiara D'Angelo, a member of this year's Committee. "Being part of the Committee also exposes us to new happen- ings such as event planning, logistics and public relations. Strengthening work relationships ON Friday 20 April 2018, employees who form part of Famalco Group had the opportunity to enjoy themselves at Disco Bowling. This event was organised by the Social Events Commit- tee as part of its commitment towards bring- ing people together at, and beyond, the work- place. As with all events organised by the Group, the Disco Bowling event was well attended, with over 50 people choosing to spend their Friday night bowling to good music in the company of their colleagues. Social events organised by the Group are ex- tremely important in a company such as Fa- malco Group. This is because there is a great number of individuals who work together but only get the opportunity to meet on occasions like this one, since the nature of the compa- ny's diversity requires people to be working in different fields of employment. Thus, some individuals operate from the head offices, oth- ers in satellite offices or outlets, whilst oth- ers even operate beyond the Maltese shores. Through these events, people can get clearer ideas of what it is that their co-workers do, while getting to know each other in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. This greatly strengthens the dynamic within the Group since people from all walks of life get the chance to mingle and socialise. These type of gatherings are frequently planned by the Social Events Committee in Famalco Group, and all employees look for- ward to upcoming events. The next two in the works are an evening spent Badger Karting, whilst Zip Lining is also on the agenda. The events are planned to try and cater for everyone's tastes, while providing the chance to try out different things which one would not necessarily get to do otherwise. Through these events, people get to discover new strengths and abilities, some of which they may not have known they had, while also strengthening the relationship with their team and increasing collaboration and motivation. Famalco Group strives to offer all of its em- ployees the opportunity to allow their careers to flourish, while also providing a fun, work- ing environment where good communication may be developed.
