COMMERCIAL | SUNDAY • 13 MAY 2018 maltatoday 18 Thinking ahead for your next Domino order BY now, everyone has probably heard that the famous Ameri- can pizza franchise, Domino's, has come to our shores. In just eight months, Domino's Malta has had great success and bro- ken many records; the first of which was the European Sales record during its first week. During the month of April, a campaign was launched on the Domino's Malta Facebook page to encourage more peo- ple to make use of Domino's time ordering concept. The message was sent to the pub- lic via an engaging anima- tion created by FKL which explained the process of time ordering. The eye-catching animation has reached almost 11,000 views at the time of publishing, with more people watching it every day! By using this method of time ordering, individuals wishing to plan their meal- times ahead of time can order their food in advance. This means that someone wishing to have their pizza delivered hot at 6:00pm after work, can choose to place the order in the morning, avoiding having to wait around for the order to be processed in the even- ing! Any time within store open- ing hours can be chosen for the placement of an order, and even better, people can opt for whether they want to get their food delivered, or whether they prefer to pick it up themselves as a carryout from the store in Birkirkara. This convenient and easy way to order your delicious Domino's pizza can be placed via the phone, on the web- site, or by using the Domino's Malta app on your Android or iOS phone. Store opening hours are be- tween 10:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Sunday. The hard work and drive which are put into making Domino's Malta a success stem from the same ethos as that of its parent company, Famalco Group. GO supports literacy programme reaching schools across Malta NEW libraries have been pre- sented to the Marsaxlokk Pri- mary School as part of the Aqra Kemm Tiflaħ/Enriching Class- room Libraries programme which is being supported by GO. Aqra Kemm Tiflaħ/En- riching Classroom Libraries is run by the National Literacy Agency within the Ministry for Education and Employment, and aims to install new librar- ies in every primary classroom in state schools across Malta. Each library includes 100 high- appeal books to encourage children to read for pleasure. The books are both fiction and non-fiction, 50 in Maltese and 50 in English. During the presentation of the new libraries by GO's Senior Manager – Market- ing, Daniela Bagnaschi, in the presence of Minister for Education and Employment, Evarist Bartolo, children from Marsaxlokk primary school, St Thomas More College took part in various reading activi- ties. Bagnaschi said, "GO is in- vesting €11,000 every year in Aqra Kemm Tiflaħ, part of a larger contribution towards education in Malta which also includes significant sup- port for the recently held Malta Robotics Olympiad. GO invests in areas like lit- eracy and science, not only because we want children to learn, but because we want them to grow up to be crea- tive and innovative, to have the skills they will need in a world driven by technology and connectivity. Developing a love of reading at a young age is key to ensuring young people continue to learn throughout their lives, and lifelong learning is the key to success." Minister Bartolo, said, "As we continue making strides in connectivity, robotics and artificial intelligence, techno- logical proficiency is becom- ing increasingly important and a sought-after skill for any successful career. With literacy still at the core of any educational system, it is imperative that children have a good relationship with books and reading. The aim of Aqra Kemm Tiflaħ/En- riching Classroom Libraries is specifically to nurture this relationship and to encour- age children to pursue their interest in science, among other subjects, by providing them with a rich selection of beautiful, informative, and interesting books to pique their curiosity." Minister Bartolo reading one of the GO sponsored books to a class at Marsaxlokk Primary school with Daniela Bagnaschi from GO and Elaine Vella, Marsaxlokk Primary Assistant Head, overlooking. Vassallo Group celebrates cultural diversity VASSALLO Group, one of the largest group of companies in Malta has organised a cultural diversity day within the group for the second consecutive year after last year's positive feedback and turnout. With the group employ- ing individuals from over 50 nationalities across all con- tintents this event was much appreciated by employees. Cultural problems can range from miscommunication to actual conflict, all endangering effective worker productivity and performance. Developing cultural appreciation and com- petence results in an ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures, and work with varying cultur- al beliefs. A communication campaign preceeded the actual day and focused on the need to recognise and appreciate the cultural differences of employ- ees at the place of work. A good number of nationali- ties participated in this vibrant event which was held at The Poseidon Hall, Seashells Hotel in Qawra. Each country was provided with its own table and flag to display its tradi- tional food and sweets for eve- ryone to taste. Employees also dressed up in their traditional clothing and also performed songs or dance routines to en- tertain the crowd. Through this event it was ev- ident that so many employees worked excellently together where individuals from dif- ferent companies within the group joined forces to repre- sent their country as one team. Commenting on this initia- tive the group's director of HR, Charlo Bonnici said that "Vas- sallo Group is proud to state that the group's philosophy is owed to cultural variety and the creative drive that results in working with a diverse team. Vassallo Group believes that innovation and inspiration are further increased due to the cultural diversity within Vas- sallo Group".
