COMMERCIAL 20 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 3 JUNE 2018 Casa Antonia to display paintings by artist and maestro Pawlu Grech Famalco Group's core people solution Homes of Quality announces winner of the Tuscany Facebook Competition A selection of paintings by Chevalier Maestro Pawlu Grech is due to be exhib- ited at Casa Antonia Nursing and Resi- dential Home in Balzan. The exhibition, entitled REST-ROSPECTION and cu- rated by Amanda Tabone will be officially opened on Thursday 7 June 2018, a pub- lic holiday, at 10.30am during the home's Open Day to mark its 15th anniversary. Throughout his extensive artistic ca- reer, Pawlu Grech has achieved recog- nition both as a musician, composer, and visual artist. In his paintings, he has managed to weave music into abstract art. His works include mixed media, gouache, pencil drawings, oil pastel and watercolours. Several of his works are today in private collections both in Mal- ta and abroad. Born in Valletta in 1938, Pawlu Grech was awarded a scholarship at the age of 16 to study at the prestigious Conserva- torio Santa Cecilia, where he spent 10 years winning acclaim for his remark- able talent, manifested in the original- ity of his early compositions. While in Rome, he furthered his studies in paint- ing at the former Scuola Galli. In 1964, after having obtained his piano diploma two years earlier, he was awarded a scholarship to further his training in orchestral conducting and composition in London, which a year later earned him the Ricordi prize for conducting in 1965 and an invitation by London BBC Radio 3 to conduct the English Cham- ber Orchestra in 1968. He also pursued his musical interest in composition un- der the tutorship of the famed Austrian musicologist Hans Keller. Many of his compositions were broadcast in Lon- don, Italy and Germany between the late 1970s and 1980s. Casa Antonia Nursing and Residential Home is opening its doors on 7th June for the public to visit the home and meet the dedicated nursing team. There will be a number of entertaining activities rang- ing from music and art to artisan stands and food stalls. "Holding an exhibition of one of our residents' work is an example of how we encourage active ageing and encourage our residents to remain a re- source to society and to life within the home while they are living here. We hope that this exhibition by Pawlu Grech will be an enriching experience for our visi- tors," said Sarah Cassar, General Man- ager at Casa Antonia. The paintings exhibition will run till 7 July 2018 and it can be viewed at Casa Antonia, Pope Alexander VII Junction, Balzan, between 10am and 7pm. During the Open Day, complimentary refreshments will be offered in the court- yard while free parking will be available at the Primary School of St Aloysius College (former Stella Maris School), with a free shuttle service. HOMES of Quality, part of the Frank Salt Real Estate Group, recently ran a Face- book competition promoting a charming property estate in Italy's most sought after region, Tuscany. Last week, Ishmael and Veronique Agius were announced as the lucky winners and shall be going to spend four nights at Borgo Case Bardi, with flights and car hire included! Borgo Case Bardi is be- ing marketed exclusively by Homes Of Quality and com- prises 22 elegantly designed properties within a managed estate having private gardens and a large communal pool. This development is located within the very heart of Tus- cany's countryside and is just a short drive away from ma- jor Tuscan attractions such as Porto Santo Stefano and Sie- na. The selection of villas and country houses are all newly built in the traditional style associated with the region's architecture, and enjoying stunning views of typical Tus- can scenery. Prices start from as little as €320,000. "We are extremely excited to be promoting this project in Tuscany as an alternative in- vestment and lifestyle offering to our esteemed clients." said Grahame Salt. "Tuscany is a very special part of Italy and what makes these properties so interesting is that they're managed and at very reason- able costs. The competition was a great success and I am sure that Mr and Mrs Agius will have an amazing time". FINEST Human Capital Ltd (also known as FHC Ltd) might be the youngest busi- ness unit within Famalco Group, but it is definitely the one with the biggest challenge: that of recruiting people and helping them develop, in order to achieve the Group's goals and aspirations. Famalco Group has been constantly expanding since the day it was set up in the early 90s. Having its people in mind, the Group has taken the decision to transform and evolve its HR department into a standalone company. FHC Ltd's focal point is on all the HR aspects of the Group, from recruitment and reten- tion, to training and process- ing payroll. The HR require- ments of such a diverse Group bring with them certain chal- lenges. However, allowing FHC to provide its attention solely towards all the HR needs of over 250 employees makes way for other business units to focus on delivering their goals. Furthermore, having a centralised HR department ensures that all employees are given the attention they need when it comes to investing in their personal development. On the important subject of bringing people on board, centralised recruitment al- lows FHC to identify not just the right position for the in- dividual, but also the right in- dustry. This gives new recruits the space to flourish within the Group and that is why the diversity within the Group is a strong point – through it, we can find the right individual for the right position, based on the background of each in- dividual employee. Looking towards the future, FHC will be specialising in customised HR, training, pay- roll support, and advice to companies who wish to offload the burdens, risks, and time involved when it comes to hu- man resources. As the Group's mission statement maintains, FHC will keep on thriving to provide its employees with the best tools to enable them to be empowered and to grow within a career.
