An original, multidisciplinary piece of theatre that celebrates the story of women through time by means of sound manipula- tion and electro-acoustic music, performed live by The New Vic- torians. MARA is an audiovisual journey through time, highlight- ing the fact that every story is worth telling, and that no voice should be silenced. Tickets are at €12 and can be bought on https://www.thenewvictorians- music.com/tickets UNTIL JULY 1 Dal-Bahar Madwarha The major visual arts exhibition of Valletta 2018 – commemorat- ing the capital city's adoption of the European Capital of Culture title in 2018. Curated by Maren Richter, the exhibition will be taking place across various ven- ues. These include the Pixkerija, the Examinations Centre and the Underground Cistern, all in Valletta. More information: http://https//valletta2018.org/ cultural-programme/dal-bahar- madwarha/ JULY 12-29 Misc Exhibition Misc is an exhibition showcas- ing works of ten Fine Art stu- dents in the Department of Art & Art History, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Malta. The exhibition has been organised entirely by the students them- selves, and all the artists and their lecturers will be present at the opening event. Entrance is free and refreshments will be available. MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT JUNE 27 – JULY 1 Isle of MTV Music Week Isle of MTV music week is just around the corner, offering good music and fun times. Stretched over a week, Isle of MTV will see musical stars performing in Malta, including Sigala, Paloma Faith and Jason Derulo. For more information on dates and tickets, go to Isle of MTV Face- book page or website. JULY 30 – AUGUST 30 Rock'N Malta Rock'N Malta will feature vari- ous concerts throughout Au- gust. Featuring Gogol Bordello and Brodu on 30 July, Julian Marley and The Upsiders, as well as ManaTapu on 18 August, Dark Tranquility, Evergrey, and Colourblind on 24 August, and Kaiser Chiefs and Bila on 30 August. JULY 1 Joseph Calleja Concert 2018 with Eros Ramazzotti The World's leading and finest lyric tenor Joseph Calleja will be performing at the Granaries in Floriana on the 21st July. The Grammy-nominated recording artist for Decca Classics, has re- leased five solo albums for the la- bel and is famed for a golden-age voice that inspires comparisons to legendary singers from earlier eras including Jussi Björling, Be- niamino Gigli and Enrico Caru- so. Joseph Calleja will be joined by Italian star Eros Ramazotti and Malta's Philarmonic Or- chestra. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE JUNE 29 Eyes to Argus + Goldstein Summer Daze Malta Night of progressive and doom metal music at Rumours, Pieta. Performing bands include Eyes to Argus and Goldstein. Doors open at 21:00. Entrance is at €5. AUGUST 14-15 Summer Daze Malta Summer Daze Malta will fea- ture three main events. Tuesday 14 will see two events. A free party at Ta'Qali featuring Martin Garrix, Rita Ora, Danny How- ard, and more, and an after party at Numero Uno. The festival will close with a sunset pool party at Café Del Mar on Wednesday 15, with Roger Sanchez, Monki and Kristen Knight. Book your tick- ets on summerdazemalta.com THEATRE UNTIL JUNE 24 Game This World Cup, Teatru Malta has thought of an innovative way of plunging itself into the football frenzy as it presents to the public an innovative hybrid of two popular culture forms- Football and Theatre. GAME is a raw narrative that tells the story of a beloved local football club and the family that runs it. The six-night performance will be held on the 15, 17, 18, 21, 22 and 23 June. BOOKS JUNE 22 Gozo Summer Book Festival The National Book Council is setting up the Summer Book Festival in Gozo for the second year running. This year the fes- tival will be held at Exhibition Hall, Ministry for Gozo in Vic- toria on 22 and 23 June 2018. The festival will be open from 10:00am till 1:00pm and from 4:00 pm till 7:00 pm on both days. Entrance is free. RE-ENACTMENT JUNE 24 In Guardia Military Parade The In Guardia parade will be held at Fort St Angelo on 24 June. Another re-enactment will be held at this fort on Sun- day 21 October. The parade will take place at the Parade Ground in the centre of Fort St Angelo. The parade takes around 50 minutes and commences at 11am. Tickets, both for the fort and the parade, are available from all Heritage Malta mu- seums and sites for €15 adults, €12 seniors and students, and €7 children. Fort St Angelo opens from 9am till 6pm, last admis- sion at 5.30pm. JUNE 29 Vittoriosa Wine Festival The Vittoriosa wine festival will take place at the magnificent Courve Porte, surrounded by some of Birgu's oldest fortifica- tions and picturesque views. The gate also serves as an entrance to the Vittoriosa Ditch. Event starts at 7.30pm serving a variety of wine all night. Live performers will entertain the crowd in dif- ferent spots of the fortifications, playing some very good music. Entrance is free, with donations for ALS Malta to be collected at the entrances.
