The event will take place at the Centre's premises in Luqa Road, Qormi from 6pm onwards. This celebration, also re- ferred to as a 'free fish party for all the family' forms part of the European Maritime Day, and will be showcasing the work of local fishermen, students and lecturing staff within the Cen- tre for Agriculture, Aquatics and Animal Sciences. Persons attending the event will have the opportunity to taste different types of local fish and learn more about the importance of a balanced diet and the cooking of under-uti- lized fish species. Information on small-scale fishing and its social importance in the Mal- tese Islands will also be dis- seminated. Live cooking and tasting ses- sions will be carried out in col- laboration with the Mediter- ranean Culinary Academy's chefs cooking on-site and sharing recipes with attendees. A talk on 'Fish for a Healthy Lifestyle' will be delivered at 6.45pm. During this event the Centre will launch the Malta Small- Scale Fisheries Network. The MCAST Centre for Ag- riculture, Aquatics and Animal Sciences within the Institute of Applied Sciences offers cours- es in three major streams: Horticulture, Fish Manage- ment and Animal Manage- ment. The Fish Management courses provide students with the needed competences to work in the Aquaculture, Fish- eries and Aquariology sectors and is done through class lec- tures, practical sessions and on-the-job learning. Research undertaken by students as part of this course supports the lo- cal efforts for a better under- standing towards more sus- tainable fishing, diversification of farmed species, etc. Free parking will be available outside the Centre. Atlas wins Employee Voice Award for the second year running ATLAS Group was recently awarded overall winner for the most engaged employees in the 100+ employees' category. The Employees' Voice award was presented to Marketing and HR Manager Jackie Attard Mon- talto at the HR Spring Event, organised by Business Leaders Malta. "This award is testimony to all our staff, in every job and at every level, who make such an effort to make Atlas a great place to work," said Attard Montalto. "Thanks to our staff and man- agement, we have a corporate culture which encourages devel- opment and ongoing feedback to improve our working envi- ronment. I am pleased that our hard work and effort to create a positive environment for our staff has been recognised – it gives us added motivation to al- ways do better." Atlas takes the positive engage- ment of its employees very seri- ously, with ongoing monitoring throughout the year, together with performance appraisals and regular feedback.
