maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 27 JUNE 2018 14 CULTURE TIA RELJIC MALTA'S first ever narrated web series is back with yet another encounter with the dev- il – this time in a private VIP room with his hell- cat henchwoman. Gypsy & The Devil is a fictional story, but the kicker is that it is written and produced by a tarot reader – Faye Alamango – who has nearly two decades experience in the prac- tice. A teaser trailer of the second episode – The Fool – can be found on YouTube, while the full episode will be available next month. And although the pi- lot episode was a mys- terious documentary, the second episode dives straight into the movie and introduces us to a whole host of new characters, in- cluding an Angel of Death and a vampire mistress. The project has come a long way since its in- ception, as Alamango says that the series has been received well despite the taboo or 'spooky' topic which surrounds it. "The cast and I were really excited to have our say on national TV," she says, referring to a recent live interview on TVM. "I think we left a good impres- sion on the public, and [sent the mes- sage that] for a bunch of vampires, demonic creatures, and mystical weir- dos, we're a fun and friendly bunch." "In fact, they liked us so much on the show that they gave us extra airtime." The second episode was directed and co-written by Karl Shaharudin. The cast features Christopher Mamo as The Devil, and the tarot reader is played by Alamango herself. Other main actors are Leszek Majewski, Ryan James Agius, Nadine Munro, Jossianne Darmanin, and Stephanie Darmanin.
