maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 27 JUNE 2018 15 LISTINGS WHAT'S ON EXHIBITIONS JUNE 29- JULY 9 Exile Voices Philanthropist, idealist, hu- manist and renowned photo- journalist, Reza Deghati has spent the last 40 years shar- ing with the world his unique photographs capturing people, cultures and traditions, thereby enabling a deeper understand- ing between human beings. The priority of Reza is to pro- vide visual education to vulner- able communities in order to give them the means of becom- ing trained and able to express themselves through photogra- phy. The exhibition will be held at the Grand Master's Palace in Valletta and entrance is free. UNTIL JULY 1 Dal-Bahar Madwarha The major visual arts exhibi- tion of Valletta 2018 – com- memorating the capital city's adoption of the European Capital of Culture title in 2018. Curated by Maren Richter, the exhibition will be taking place across various venues. These include the Pixkerija, the Ex- aminations Centre and the Underground Cistern, all in Valletta. More information: http://https//valletta2018.org/ cultural-programme/dal-ba- har-madwarha/ JULY 12-29 Misc Exhibition Misc is an exhibition show- casing works of ten Fine Art students in the Department of Art & Art History, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Malta. The exhibition has been organ- ised entirely by the students themselves, and all the artists and their lecturers will be pre- sent at the opening event. En- trance is free and refreshments will be available. MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT JULY 30 – AUGUST 30 Rock'N Malta Rock'N Malta will feature various concerts throughout August. Featuring Gogol Bor- dello and Brodu on 30 July, Julian Marley and The Upsid- ers, as well as ManaTapu on 18 August, Dark Tranquility, Ev- ergrey, and Colourblind on 24 August, and Kaiser Chiefs and Bila on 30 August. JULY 1 Joseph Calleja Concert 2018 with Eros Ramazzotti The World's leading and finest lyric tenor Joseph Calleja will be performing at the Granaries in Floriana on the 21st July. The Grammy-nominated record- ing artist for Decca Classics, has released five solo albums for the label and is famed for a golden-age voice that inspires comparisons to legendary sing- ers from earlier eras including Jussi Björling, Beniamino Gigli and Enrico Caruso. Joseph Calleja will be joined by Italian star Eros Ramazotti and Malta's Philarmonic Orchestra. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE JUNE 29 Eyes to Argus + Goldstein Summer Daze Malta Night of progressive and doom metal music at Rumours, Pieta. Performing bands include Eyes to Argus and Goldstein. Doors open at 21:00. Entrance is at €5. AUGUST 14-15 Summer Daze Malta Summer Daze Malta will fea- ture three main events. Tues- day 14 will see two events: a free party at Ta'Qali featuring Mar- tin Garrix, Rita Ora, Danny Howard, and more, and an af- ter party at Numero Uno. The festival will close with a sunset pool party at Café Del Mar on Wednesday 15, with Roger Sanchez, Monki and Kristen Knight. Book your tickets on summerdazemalta.com THEATRE JULY 13-22 MADC As You Like It Directed by Philip Leone- Ganadoand starring some of Malta's best established and up-and-coming actors, accom- panied by live music, MADC presents a fresh and accessible take on the classic comedy un- der the stars in the inimitable setting of San Anton Gardens. Performances run from Friday 13th to Sunday 22nd July at 8:30pm. There will be no per- formance on Sunday 15th July. Tickets at €15 and €20. Open- ing night tickets at only €12. WINE FESTIVAL JUNE 29 Vittoriosa Wine Festival The Vittoriosa wine festival will take place at the magnifi- cent Couvre Porte, surround- ed by some of Birgu's oldest fortifications and picturesque views. The gate also serves as an entrance to the Vittoriosa Ditch. Event starts at 7.30pm serving variety of wine all night. Live performers will en- tertain the crowd in different spots of the fortifications play- ing some very good music. En- trance is free, with donations for ALS Malta to be collected at the entrances. JULY 20-22 Marsovin Wine Festival The Marsovin Summer Wine Festival is back! As al- ways the event plans to have a highly cultural and enter- taining concept, by present- ing a myriad of professional musicians performing daily, whilst offering a vast selection of over 30 certified D.O.K. and I.Ġ.T. quality wines from grapes grown around Malta and Gozo. All of the wines can be enjoyed by visiting the different wine bars, carefully spread around Hastings Gar- dens. A €20 entrance fee for all those attending is being introduced and tickets can be bought from The Master Cel- lar in Naxxar and Marsovin Cellars in Paola. AUGUST 9-12 Delicata Classic Wine Festival The Delicata Classic Wine Festival is back for its 17th con- secutive edition. As always, the festival will be held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, between the 9th and 12th of August. Entrance is free, with wine glasses and purses sold until 11pm and wine poured up to 11:30pm. Live cooking stalls will be serving a tempting variety of both traditional Mal- tese and international dishes to tease a wide range of palates. TODAY Isle Of MT V The annual Isle of MT V will kick of f tonight at around 3pm, featuring Sigala, Paloma Faith, Elle Eyre, Hailee Steinfeld. Dimiltri Vegas & Like Mike and Jason Derulo.
