17 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 3 OCTOBER 2018 COMMERCIAL TOWNSQUARE Sliema is de- lighted to announce it has signed an agreement with world class design firm YOO, co-founded by revered creative director Philippe Starck, to produce the design concepts for its proposed quality mixed-use project in the heart of Sliema. YOO inspired by Starck will exclusively design the interiors for the Townsquare Residential Tower – including the apart- ments, common areas and foyer – which features in the updated design statement submitted by the developers to the Planning Authority last July. YOO joins a formidable pro- ject team that already comprises award-winning architectural firm Martin Xuereb and Asso- ciates, as well as Milan-based retail and urban architects One Works, who have a portfolio of projects across the globe. A spokesperson for Town- square said: "Philippe Starck needs no introduction as one of the greatest living design- ers today and we are thrilled that YOO inspired by Starck will be bringing their creativ- ity and genius to Malta for the first time. Their talent will un- doubtedly create concepts that will be transformational for our project." YOO co-founder John Hitchcox said: "We are so excit- ed to be working in Malta, and Townsquare signs top global design firm YOO inspired by Philippe Starck ANNOUNCED at the fifteenth edition of this glamorous yachting event, known as the Oscars of the yachting industry, the Tar- ga 43 OPEN beat stiff com- petition from luxury yacht manufacturers across the globe to secure the highly coveted title of Best Exte- rior Design in the 14-18m category. The star of the night was Fairline's all-new Targa 43 OPEN, which launched at this year's Cannes Yacht- ing Festival. Featuring the award-winning design of Alberto Mancini this brand new model is set to be a real hit on the market, with all 2018 and 2019 pro- duction slots already filled. The high profile event took place on the Ritz Carlton beach, during the Cannes Yachting Festival. 18 trophies were award- ed to the finest yachts launched over the past 12 months, followed by a pa- rade of 30 yachts. Russell Currie, Managing Director of Fairline Yachts, said: "The launch of the Targa 43 signifies an exciting new stage for Fairline Yachts and this highly coveted award is testimony to our dedication to create excit- ing boats of the highest quality that suit our dis- cerning global customer base. ''We would like to thank the judges for their consid- eration and decision, along with every member of the Fairline team, whose hard work has made this incred- ible achievement possible." HAVING mined such rich ter- ritories as colour, deconstruction and artifice in her nine CHANEL beauty collections thus far, Lucia Pica considers texture for the Fall/ Winter 2018 collection. Tapping the emotional depth and visual in- tensity offered by matte surfaces, the selection of eye and lip colors in Apotheosis, Le Mat De Chanel evokes a uniquely feminine sensi- bility – one of inner quietude, se- renity and self-possession. As always, Pica's signature reds act as both counterpoint and prov- ocation, more vivid than ever in their matte extremity. The eyes Focusing on texture has led Lucia Pica to consider how in painting, matte pigments are used to trig- ger specific emotions. In Apothe- osis, Le Mat De Chanel, the rich taupes, deep browns, light mauves and powerful blues of Les 4 Om- bres reflect a sense of strength and contentment, while their velvety finish has a fine, watercolor-like ef- fect. The black, beige and gunmetal blue grey of the STYLO OMBRE ET CONTOUR pens bring their own profundity. Additionally, with matte textures, technique always comes into play. The pens' creamy formulations add definition and life – ideal for soft sculpting. Just apply powder shades to their cream bases for further degrees of intensity. The lips This sublime matte effect of- fers additional application meth- ods as the Apotheosis collection builds. With Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur Mat, the practicality of a pen meets the innate glamor if lip- stick. Jumbo-sized and retractable, the crayons' six intense new shades are boosted by their light-absorb- ing, creamy texture, gliding on in a gesture as intuitive as signing one's own signature. At the other end of the spectrum, the sheerest cover of all comes with the flourish of a wand as liquid Rouge Allure Ink melts into the lips, leaving a fresh, mauve-pink "stain". The face The soft mauve of the Joues Con- traste provides a surprising diver- sion from the collection's other- wise somber palette. The fresh pink warmth suggests a flush of natural emotion against the stronger, more constructed eye and lip looks. The nails The glamorous side of tranquil- ity is distilled into two new matte shades for the nails – a bold, enig- matic red and a rich burgundy. The arresting light-absorbing texture shrouds the nails in mystery, their surfaces guaranteed to captivate and intrigue. This uncanny sensi- bility continues in the collection's duo of matte shades. The elegant, lustrous finish yields a palette of red and burgundy. Chanel is distributed by Alfred Gera & Sons Ltd. Chanel Fall/Winter 2018 collection - Le Mat De Chanel Targa 43 Open wins at World Yacht Trophies 2018 with a team that shares our pas- sion for regenerating valuable connections between people by creating new communities and enhancing how we live through clever and exciting design."
