15 CULTURE maltatoday | SUNDAY • 11 NOVEMBER 2018 BESIDES its palaeontological and archaeological importance, the prehistoric site of Għar Dalam in Birżebbuġa is also a Natura 2000 protected area. Today, Heritage Malta is invit- ing the public to visit this site and participate in the activities which will focus on various aspects of the Maltese environment. The full day event will also see the involvement of various environ- mental NGOs and government entities. Activities will start at 9am with a botanical tour in the Wied Dalam area led by Nature Trust. This tour will take place again at 11am, 2pm and 4pm. At 9.30am, the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) will deliver a talk about National species. This talk will be repeated at 10:30hrs and at 11.30am. Throughout the day, the GROW 10 TREES Project will be giving demonstrations about tree propagation and at 10am and 3.30pm will be planting trees on site. Various stands on site will pro- vide further opportunity to ex- plore different aspects of our lo- cal environment. These include: • Heritage Malta - cave fauna; • Ambjent Malta - valley management; • ERA – National species; • Nature Trust – the nat- ural environment; • Birdlife - craft sessions and treasure hunts; • Golden Island - honey tasting and demonstration. Her- itage Malta's honey products will be on sale. During this event, participants may choose to take part in envi- ronment-related activities, walk around the grounds, and visit Għar Dalam cave. Meanwhile a food stall will also be available. Visitors will be granted a re- duced fee entrance of €2. How- ever, those arriving at Għar Dalam by bicycle will enter for free to encourage environment friendly transport. Founded by Jonathan Shaw and Nirvana Azzopardi in 1998, Teatru Unplugged is Malta's longest annual standing event. The contrast of short musical acts of different genres within the majestic setting of the Manoel Theatre creates a unique one- of-a-kind event. This year's 21st edition will include acts by Ċikku l-Poplu & Friends, Fiona Cauchi, Col- ourblind, Relikc, and Miklòs Veszprémi. APS Teatru Unplugged is produced by Jon Shaw and the Manoel Theatre, with the artistic direction of Renzo Spiteri. Corporate partners include APS Bank, Baileys, Blumerang and Camilleri Par- is Mode. The show, including intermission ends at 10.45pm. This year's event will be held on the 7, 8 and 9 December 2018 @ 8pm.
