The Italian Taste event gives Italian producers the opportu- nity to introduce themselves to the Maltese market and to showcase their produce which is still produced in the tradi- tional manner. This event presents the best of Italian enogastronomic and artisan excellences: panetto- ni, olive oil, bakery products, chocolates, nougat, pasta, cold cuts, cheeses and wines. The Italian taste event is be- ing organised by the Italian Food Academy which was set up in Malta by Chef Salvatore Piccione. This academy will give food courses certified by ALMA, which is a renowned Italian food academy based in Reggia di Colorno. "The purpose of this event is to give visibility to companies that work hard to produce genuine healthy products with the aim of transmitting an educational message re- garding our health and well- being. This is an important message and an incentive to adhere to a true Mediter- ranean diet. Moreover, this will favour the consumption of our regional typical excel- lences'' said Chef Salvator Piccione, Director of the Ital- ian Food Accademy. During these three days of celebrating food, visitors can tour 22 stalls and taste Ital- ian delicacies. There will also be live cooking sessions from Pastry Chef Francesco Arena who is a point of reference in the world of pastry. Chef Arena was the first Sicilian member of the Richemont Club which is an international umbrella organisation which promotes excellences in the word of pastry. "It is fitting that this event is being organised at is-Suq since this space has always been synonymous with being a genuine food market. We are proud to host this event which celebrates the successes of Italian Businesses that chose to safeguard their products in order to maintain their origins and characteristics so as to of- fer healthy, wholesome food products." said Maria Micallef CEO of Arcadia Group.
