14 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 9 JANUARY 2019 EVENTS THIS Saturday, the founder of the Trail Makers Malta Facebook page, Giovanni Camilleri, and Dutch walk- ing enthusiast Jeffery Tanis will be tackling Malta's pe- rimeter in one go in a bid to raise awareness and money for the Puttinu Cares Foun- dation. The 130km-walk, which will begin in St Julian's at 8am, is expected to take 29 hours, and people are invited to join the walk at scheduled times and places, which can be found on the Walk Malta Facebook page. "Walking has always been a passion of ours," says Mr Camilleri, whose achieve- ments include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tan- zania, Elbros in Russia, De- nali in Alaska, Aconcagua in Argentina, and other smaller ones in Europe and Africa, as well as having completed the 800km Camino de Santiago, the arduous 200km GR20 trek in Corsica, and crossed Malta, Ireland and Holland with other trekkers clocking in hundreds of kilometres. "During training I walked 125km at a stretch, so this should be a fun challenge," he adds. "More importantly, however, it will help us raise awareness and funds for Put- tinu Cares, which takes a ho- listic approach to caring for families with children suffer- ing from cancer." The first Walk Malta is ex- pected to start on Saturday 12 January at 8am and fin- ish on Sunday 13 January at 1pm. To find out how to join the walk and where the trail makers will be at any given time, please visit the Walk Malta Facebook page. Walk around Malta in aid of Puttinu Cares INSPIRE, the Foundation for Inclusion which helps over 1000 individuals with various disabilities including Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and others by providing services and programmes, has recently launched their newly revamped website. The new on- line space delivers an improved user experience through a sim- ple, clean design with enhanced features, functionality and nav- igation, enabling visitors to ex- perience Inspire's services. Designed and developed by the Concept Stadium, the challenge was to create a web- site that was contemporary in design yet providing easier navigation. In this respect, UX and simplicity were the key focus areas, and as such the revamped website includes mobile-friendly and browser compatibility for convenient multi-device access, a new membership and booking sys- tem, and a donations mod- ule which enables visitors to easily make donations online and an easier and more intui- tive event management pages, while integrating tickets and online payments. "We have worked very closely with the Inspire team in order to deliver a website with particular focus on easier navigation, systems and con- tent that works well across all screen sizes," commented Jonathan Dalli and Jonathan Chetcuti, Founders and CEO and COO at the Concept Sta- dium. "We also made sure that not only do we include essential information about the Foundation, with a clear visual element of the service offering; but also presenting this in a contemporary and visually attractive form." Inspire believes that eve- ryone has a right to equality and inclusion. Their mission is to try to help everyone with a disability achieve this and they do this by providing in- dividuals and their families with educational, therapeutic and leisure services. They also advocate for inclusion, edu- cate the general public, raise awareness among peers, and hold the best knowledge base on disability on the island. The newly designed website can be accessed through www.inspire.com.mt. The Concept Stadium launches new website for Inspire AS an extension of the success- ful summer BeerWatch cam- paign, Cisk partnered with Tax- ify during the Christmas season to encourage responsible behav- iour and promote safe celebra- tions. The awareness campaign focused on a message of 'Don't Drink and Drive' and also of- fered free cab rides to any per- sons booking their cab through the Taxify app on selected days and times during December. Two vehicles were co-branded with Cisk and Taxify visuals and if commuters were picked up by any of these branded cars, then their cab ride was complimen- tary with the cost picked up by Cisk. "Our BeerWatch campaign started in summer 2017 and is aimed at raising awareness about responsible drinking dur- ing the hot summer months. A second successful campaign fol- lowed last summer, and this year we have extended it beyond the beach to encourage responsible drinking during the Christmas season," said Mr Karl Bondin, Beers Brand Manager at Si- monds Farsons Cisk plc. A total of 231 free rides were given throughout the campaign, with excellent feedback received for the initiative. The award-winning Cisk port- folio, which includes Cisk Lager, Cisk Excel, Cisk Pilsner, Cisk Export, Cisk Strong and the Cisk Chill range of flavoured beers, is brewed, marketed and distribut- ed by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.
