The Stivalas have managed to fi nd quite a good number of tokens since Lyall's 1999 publication, in which 95 different establishments had been identifi ed. This publication identifi es no less than 84 new establishments, most of which are new or different to those already identifi ed by Lyall. These Malta 'tokens', in their various forms and intended use, tell the economic and social history of Malta, albeit, at times, verging on the shady side. Never- theless, it is a Malta story which these tokens help to commemorate and immortalise. Karen McManus – Two Can Keep a Secret A perfect town is hiding secrets. Two teenagers are dead. Two murders unsolved. And a killer who claims to be coming back. Ellery's never been to Echo Ridge, but she's heard all about it. It's where her aunt went missing at age sixteen, never to return. Where a Homecoming Queen's murder fi ve years ago made national news and where Ellery now has to live with a grandmother she barely knows, after her failed-actress mother lands in rehab. Benjamin Balint - Kafka's Last Trial: The Case of a Literary Legacy When Franz Kafka died in 1924, his loyal champion Max Brod could not bring himself to fulfi l his friend's last instruction: to burn his remaining manuscripts. Instead, Brod devoted the rest of his life to editing, publishing and canonizing Kafka's work. But that betrayal also eventually lead to an international legal battle: as a writer in German, should Kafka's papers come to rest in Germany, where his three sisters died as victims of the Holocaust? Or, as a Jewish writer, should his work be considered as a cultural inheritance of Israel, a state that did not exist at the time of his death?
