BUSINESS maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 30 JANUARY 2019 12 MICROSOFT has just appointed Christodoulos Pa- pafotis in the role of Commercial & Part- ners Director of Mi- crosoft for Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Papafotis joins the leadership team of Microsoft for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, coming from the Central and Eastern Europe team (CEE), where he held the position of the Global Alliance Di- rector & System In- tegrators. In his new position, Papafotis will be responsible for the partners ecosystem, as well as for the management of all Small and Medium Corporate customers in those three countries. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Old Dominion Universi- ty, US, and an MBA from Strome College of Business, US. HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. has kicked off 2019 with some great offers on Home Loans, Per- sonal Loans, as well as rewards for new customers joining its unique Premier or Advance propositions. On offer are packages tailored for customers buying their first or second home, with competi- tive interest rates on HSBC's Classic Home Loan, with rates fixed until 30th June 2022. Home loan customers will en- joy personalised attention from specialised lending managers who will guide them through- out the whole lending process and ascertain that customers seize the best opportunities. When it comes to Personal Loans, apart from offering the possibility of applying for such a loan online, HSBC is again of- fering fixed competitive rates combined with the possibility to repay the loan over a peri- od of seven years. For the first time, HSBC is also providing a Furniture loan at a highly com- petitive interest rate to those customers who have taken a Home Loan from the bank in the past two years. This deal is available until 30 June 2019. With its two unique proposi- tions that provide unrivalled features and benefits to cus- tomers - HSBC Premier and HSBC Advance - the bank is offering those customers who meet the eligibility criteria and join by 28 February 2019, a cash reward of €75 and €50 respectively as a thank you for choosing HSBC as their bank of choice. This cash reward is over and above the free-of-charge propositions that include such features as free travel insur- ance, a free HSBC Premier Contactless Mastercard World or a free HSBC Advance Visa Platinum Card, loyalty reward points and much more. HSBC ushers in 2019 with great offers MORE than 130,000 unique users have connected to the Free Tallinja WiFi on board buses in De- cember. Malta Public Transport rolled out the ser- vice last year in conjunction with Transport Malta and, after a successful trial period, all buses in the network are providing free internet to passengers. In December alone, over 3,500,000 connec- tions were made using a total 15.50 terabytes of data. Unsurprisingly, the most used app was Facebook – accounting for a 70 percent share of the data transferred. Malta Public Transport Commercial Director Daniel Grech explained that this was the first full month that the Free Tallinja WiFi was available on the entire bus fleet. "The results are promising, and we expect more passengers to avail themselves of the free service in the coming months.
