24.10.19 8 NEWS HARVEST Technology is the first new partner of the Microsoft Innovation Centre. An agreement with Microsoft was signed this week between Microsoft Malta and Harvest Technology which incorporates PTL Limited and APCO Systems Limited, through which Har- vest will be contributing expertise, knowledge and talent development to all those using the MIC. "is is the first in a series of new part- nerships that the Microsoft Innovation Centre will be announcing over the coming months," Kyle Anastasi from Microsoft Malta said. "Harvest and Microsoft Malta share the same commitment to keep support- ing the growth of the local startup eco- system and our plan is that through fu- ture initiatives, we will keep supporting the community together." "At a time when Microsoft has been reviewing its MIC programme in oth- er markets, we are proud to say that in Malta, the MIC has been acknowl- edged for its constant growth and in- creased role in Malta's IT ecosystem. We have been growing from strength to strength and the new partnerships that are currently being established keep us in line with our corporate mis- sion "to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more" he said. Inaugurated six years ago, the Micro- soft Innovation Centre has been playing a prominent role in the local tech eco- system, acting as a point of reference for technology experts, businesses, start- ups, students and educators to learn more how their work and operations can be improved through Microsoft's technology. Hosting and mentoring start-ups was always one of the main missions of the Microsoft Innovation Centre. To date, over 180 technology start- ups have been hosted at the MIC where more outreach activities are being or- ganised in line with the evolution of newer technologies such as cloud com- puting, big data, blockchain, igaming, AI and virtual reality. Harvest sign up as new Microsoft Innovation Centre partners Panta sent a team of eight people, including electrical engineers, technicians and estimatorsfor a week- long KNX Basic Certification and Partner course in the United Kingdom at the Home of Technologies Training Centre in London. The aim of the course was to acquire enough knowledge to be able to design, install, test, commission and trouble-shoot a KNX system making Panta the partner of choice for commercial or domestic building automation. Following the successful completion of this course, Panta Lesco Limited has now become a KNX partner, with Panta Contracting COO Adrian Borg commenting that 'this is just one of the numerous steps being taken to ensure Panta remains at the forefront of building engineering in Malta.'
