The study by the EU's Eras- mus programme, however, also found that 35% of migrants did not see learning Maltese as im- portant, with all respondents saying training in English was 'important' and 'essential'. The study, carried out across five EU countries, found that 81% of migrants in Malta had never received any type of training, complaining that more day-to-day responsibil- ities made it hard for them to access language training and education. Half said they could not find information on training pro- grammes, while 30% said they had no time left for training due to their working lives. The incident took place at around 10am yesterday. No passengers were on board the aircraft and the pilot sustained no injuries. "The Malta International Airport can confirm that its Rescue and Firefight- ing Services Team was dis- patched to the scene im- mediately, taking control of the situation within sec- onds," an MIA statement said. The airport's main run- way was not impacted by this incident, and the air- port team and the relevant stakeholders are working on resuming operations.
