maltatoday | SUNDAY • 4 OCTOBER 2020 13 COMMERCIAL Frank Salt Real Estate is first company to get over 100 of its negotiators accredited EARLIER this month, over one hundred Frank Salt Real Estate sales and letting consultants re- ceived a Property Agents Award Certificate from IDEA Academy. This puts the company amongst the very first in Malta to invest in this additional level of train- ing and accreditation for its entire team. This certification confirms that all negotiators have now obtained the neces- sary qualifications to receive an official property agent licence as soon as the recently introduced legal regulations come into force in the beginning of next year. All Frank Salt Real Estate's di- rectors, together with fourteen branch managers and over one hundred sales and letting pro- fessionals, attended the three- month online course at IDEA Academy designed specifical- ly for local estate agents. The accredited programme cov- ered four main topics which encompasses the whole sales process namely communica- tion and negotiation skills, the legal aspect relating to selling and leasing of property; valu- ations, architectural, planning, notarial, legal, financial regula- tions, as well as processes and procedures which need to be adhered to. Frank Salt Real Estate strong- ly believes and invests in on- going training, with seminars, coaching and refresher sessions which form part of its yearly agenda for all consultants. This is done in order to keep abreast with latest developments in the property market and to further enhance their knowledge and negotiating skills in order to provide clients with the highest level of service. IDEA Academy forms part of IDEA Group and is licensed to offer accredited programmes by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education BOV National Bowling Senior Championships SUE Abela and Paul Gray were crowned BOV Bowling Nation- al Senior Champions for 2020. Gray and Abela both led from day 1 of the championship re- served for bowlers over 50 years and were never in any danger of losing the top spot. In the ladies section, Abe- la bowled strongly with a 205 scratch average to maintain her dominance of this division with her 4th title in so many editions of this championship. Her dominance was such that she had an incredible 750 pins scratch over second placed Jo- sephine Borg. The tightly con- tested 3rd place went to veter- an Tessa Bonnici who managed to pip Liliana Spiteri by just 25 pins overall. Paul Gray shot out of the starting blocks with his per- sonal best 6 game set of 1472, (245 scratch average), which is also the second best 6 game set ever in the local Seniors cate- gory. Gray shot a 299 and a 274 in this set to win these champi- onships for a second time Gray stayed in total control over the competitors even in day 2 and 3, to end up high bowler scratch with almost a 219 average. With his addi- tional age related handicap he ended up almost 200 pins ahead of second place. This battle for 2nd place was very tightly contested between Mark Spiteri, Dennis Mercieca and Kenneth Arpa. At the end, Spiteri, managed to beat Mer- cieca by just 1 pin (3922-3921, including handicap), with Arpa 83 pins behind after an unlucky last game. 5th place went to Giancarlo Tolu, who had a great second set of games play- ing his personal best of 1361 (almost 227 average). Charles Azzopardi, Executive PR & Marketing at Bank of Val- letta presented the trophies to the champions. Bank of Vallet- ta is the one of the main sup- porters of the Malta Ten Pin Bowling Association and a ma- jor supporter of sporting initia- tives on the Maltese Islands. Mark Spiteri, Dennis Mercieca and Kenneth Arpa Art courses to resume at MSA in October BACK in March, the Malta So- ciety of Arts (MSA) was hosting around 25 different courses in the visual, applied, and perform- ing arts. All courses had to be put on hold due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and they will now resume as from Thursday 15 October 2020 fol- lowing the same time-table. Stu- dents who were attending these popular courses in March can look forward to re-starting their classes, albeit with new Cov- id-19 safety protocols, including social distancing, in place. New courses will start at the beginning of the new year, in early 2021. The list of courses which will be on offer and their schedules will be published in November on the Malta Society of Arts' website and Facebook Page.
