14 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 4 OCTOBER 2020 COMMERCIAL Marsovin releases Grand Maître 2018 MARSOVIN'S Grand Maître 2018, "Annata Fra Ramon Perel- los y Roccaful' has just been re- leased. This is the 21st vintage of the prized and highly sought after flagship wine produced by the Maltese premium winery. The wine is produced by spe- cial appointment to the Maltese Association Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Each vintage is dedicated to a different Grand Master in chronological order, the first one being Philippe Villiers de L'Isle Adam for the 1998 vintage. Grand Maître is produced from grapes grown on Mar- sovin's private estate- Għajn Riħana, situated between the Bidnija hills and Wardija in the north of Malta. The vineyard is densely planted with 14,000 vines of two noble French grape varieties, made up of equal quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The arid land and clay-rich, calcareous soil provide a tough growing environment for these vines. The low yields from this es- tate generally produce very concentrated full bodied wines of intense fruit and aromatic character. Following vinifi- cation, the unfiltered wine is aged in new oak barriques for over 12 months in the Marso- vin Cellars prior to bottling. The 2018 vintage was char- acterised by a cold and windy winter, a warmer than usual spring and average summer temperature. The warmer spring temperature resulted in an early but smooth grape rip- ening and excellent concentra- tion of colours and flavours. The resultant wine produced portrays the typical character- istics of this vineyard togeth- er with a specific vintage style of its own, in that it is already an approachable wine, with smooth well balanced tan- nins and a distinctive complex bouquet of amarena cherries and new oak nuances compli- mented by some leathery, spicy notes and sweet tobacco un- dernotes. For information and orders of Grand Maître, you can call on 79231919 or send an email to cellars@marsovinwinery.com EY announce virtual event to explore what's in store for Malta's economy, jobs and future THIS year's edition of what was previously known as the EY An- nual Attractiveness Event will take place in a "groundbreaking" virtual format over four days from 20-23 October. It is free to attend and open to all. The event, named the Future Realised Week, is intended to trigger new ideas, challenge perspectives and explore dif- ferent possibilities for Malta post-COVID-19, EY said. Discussions will centre around a new economic model for Malta, which places long- term value creation, sustain- able growth, the environment and the happiness of citizens top of the agenda. During the event, the results of the EY's Attractiveness Sur- vey - an annual study conduct- ed among existing FDI compa- nies in Malta - will be revealed, outlining current investors' sentiments on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, Mal- ta's strengths, weaknesses and where the Island should be fo- cusing its efforts, EY said. The speaker line-up this year includes three former Europe- an prime ministers and presi- dents, senior leaders from the World Bank, World Economic Forum, United Nations and the European Commission, global technology and artificial intel- ligence gurus from Microsoft, Nvidia, SAP, together with senior global leaders from EY offices in London and New York. They will be joined by lo- cal business leaders, academics and NGOs to drive home a dis- cussion on how to build back a better as the country emerges from crisis. Throughout the discussions, the distinguished speakers will examine the impact of the crisis now, next and beyond. The event will explore what the new normal might look like – considering globalisa- tion, where opportunity and competition will come from, the impact of re-shored and near-shored supply chains, the sectors that will thrive – and what this means for industry in Malta. David Pilling, best-sell- ing author and Financial Times editor will be back again to outline how Malta can move beyond GDP to measure eco- nomic success. Business leaders will debate how to navigate the challeng- es which companies face in surviving and prospering, both now and a post COVID-19 en- vironment. Speakers will also discuss how COVID-19 has turbo-charged the digital rev- olution – and the ways com- panies can put technology to use to get ahead and the tips on how to make remote working, work. EY will also unveil its latest research on Future Con- sumer Trends in Malta which shows how COVID-19 has al- tered local consumer spending behaviour. The EY Generate Survey will also presented, outlining the views of Millennials and Gen- eration-Z on the crisis, the economy and their future in Malta. Future Realised Week will take place between 20 to 23 October 2020.
