Asked whether they will be taking the coronavirus jab, 84.2% said 'yes' and only 4.3% replied 'no'. An- other 11.5% were unsure. The survey was con- ducted between the 4 and 8 January, which was the second week of Malta's vaccine rollout programme. Healthcare workers, carers, care home residents and el- derly aged 85 and over are among the first to get the vaccine. A survey carried out last month by The Sunday Times of Malta had found that more than 70% of the population were likely to take the vaccine and 4.6% replied with a categorical 'no'. The latest MaltaToday results show a significant increase in the number of people, who are now convinced they will take the vaccine. Health Minister Chris Fearne said last week said that Malta expects to reach herd immunity for COVID-19 by Septem- ber. The full population can then be vaccinated by the end of 2021. A b e l a ' s trust rat- ing stood at 42.1%, a decrease of al- most five points since last month, and the lowest re- sult since becoming Prime Minister a year ago. Grech registered a trust rating of 34.7%, climbing almost five points since De- cember, and achieving his best result since becoming Nationalist Party leader last October.
