Reporting to the Board of the Bureau, the ideal candidate should: i. Define strategies and provide leadership to initiate, lead and manage all initiatives in fulfilling the Bureau's mission; ii. Ensure respectful and effective communication with the Board on the general running of the Bureau and of the general outcome of investigations and operations concluded by the Bureau; iii. Lead and develop the ARB Directorate for maximum performance; iv. Be result driven and to act in terms of the ARB Regulations (LN357/2015) and any superseding legislation. 2. Ideal Candidate should have: i. A university degree with experience in a Senior Executive position; ii. Effective team management skills; iii. Executive presence to effectively represent ARB in public whilst giving presentations and networking; iv. Ability to master a broad range of stakeholder relations in both the public and private sectors; v. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal; and communication skills. Experience in asset recovery practices will be deemed beneficial. MATTHEW AGIUS ALBANIANS Artan Coku and Daniel Muka had used a modi- fied blanks pistol and an illegal short-barrelled shotgun in their attempt to hold up a jeweller's at Tigné Point in 2017, a court expert has told the court hear- ing evidence against the accused men. Coku and Muka were arrest- ed in connection with a hold- up at the Tigné Diamonds In- ternational jewellery outlet in October 2017. A third, Muka's brother Begtash, was also later apprehended by the police in 2019. Two people, including a security guard, were in- jured during the heist, after which the robbers escaped. Armed men dressed in masks and wigs and reportedly wield- ing a shotgun, pistol, batons and axes, stormed into the Di- amonds International store at Tigné Point on 5 October 2017. Two men and a woman, the shop's manager, salesman and a shop assistant, were inside the outlet at the time of the in- cident. The shop assistant suf- fered slight injuries to his leg. A senior security official on duty at Tigné Point had run to the outlet when he heard loud noises and disrupted the two men as they held the staff up at gunpoint and gathered jew- ellery from the display cases. Diamonds Int. heist: modified blanks pistol and illegal shotgun used MATTHEW AGIUS MALTA'S crime rate has fallen for the fourth consecutive year, according to figures released by the ministry of Home Affairs and National Security. Minister Byron Camilleri thanked the police and law enforcement personnel for their part in the successful ef- fort. "This year's report should put the public's mind at rest," Camilleri said of statistics compiled by Prof. Saviour For- mosa, showing a 16% decrease in reported crimes.
