e project relates to the provision of
a public open space where before there
was none. Whenever nondescript and
incongruous buildings can be demol-
ished, the provision of public open spac-
es within the village cores are to be en-
couraged. Landscaping and seating have
been provided for, with a water feature
providing a central focus point for the
space. e design of the paving denotes
where the former building outline once
was stood, and delineates the space at
the junction of two streets in this histor-
ic area.
