Piazzetta, Sliema

e space allows for a sense of calm and tranquillity in a hectic
area along the Sliema seafront, elevated from the hustle and bus-
tle of the promenade. Seating is successfully incorporated into the
scheme, which includes access from the lower levels by means of an
elevator on one side and a step-free access on the other. Landscap-
ing, though yet to mature, softens the scheme. Beneath the piazzet-
ta, retail outlets are integrated within a podium floor which features
a continuation of the design of the space above. At night, sensitive
lighting complements the design and integrates the scheme within
its context.
