The unemployed man, who cannot be named due to a court order, was arraigned before magistrate Donatelle Frendo Dimech by Inspector Jessica Bezzina and was charged with aggravated theft. It is understood that the man had allegedly stolen his father's car and motorbike shortly after the latter's death. Among the other items allegedly stolen were two 32-inch televisions and three dogs. The accused was arrested after his mother filed a re- port at the police station. In court this morning, the man pleaded guilty to the charge and apologised, adding that he suffered from depression. The court put off the case till next week for sentenc- ing, admonishing the man for "letting drug dealers make money off his back." Lawyer Mark Mifsud Cutajar was defence counsel. A man hunt is underway for a 32-year-old man in- volved in a stabbing on Monday evening. Police said that around 10:30 pm on Monday, they were informed of an argument in Triq it-Tiġrija, Marsa. Initial investigations showed that a 35-year-old man from Zurrieq was stabbed by the 32-year-old man with a sharp object. A medical team was called onsite which took the vic- tim to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries. Magistrate Joseph Mifsud has launched an inquiry in- to the case. Police investigations are ongoing. A 58-year-old man from Iklin has been seriously injured after falling from a ladder at a Swieqi construction site. The police said the incident happened at around 9:30 am on Tuesday in Triq il-Keffa, Swieqi. District police were called on site together with a medical team which took the man to Mater Dei Hospi- tal, where he was certified for his injuries. Preliminary investigations showed the man was work- ing in a construction site when the accident happened. Police investigations are ongoing.
