maltatoday | SUNDAY • 18 APRIL 2021 7 TELEVISION Local indie filmmakers working on a new motoring reality show A group of indie filmmakers with a passion for cinematogra- phy have been working for the past year on a brand new mo- toring reality show aimed at re- vamping the quality brought to local TV. Revved' is a game changer in so many ways and will hope- fully eliminate the stigma that Maltese productions have little or low cinematic and enter- tainment value. The local TV scene is saturat- ed with dramas and magazine programmes which are basical- ly long adverts created by the same handful of big produc- tion studios. This has created a stagnant culture hampering indie filmmakers and young talent from trying to penetrate this market and have a fighting chance. In comes MF studios, which is led by Matthew Cesareo (The creator behind Overdrive among other ventures) and Fa- bian Azzopardi who are part- nering up with creatives strug- gling during the pandemic giving them a platform to un- leash their creativity and show off their talents. The show, unlike other local Motoring shows, will be made up of challenges, historical mi- ni documentaries, interviews from the local scene and much more, and will focus on the on- screen chemistry between the hosts. The show will deliver a new means of entertainment whilst utilizing amazing talent behind the scenes to create a cinemat- ic experience that will immerse the audiences. Revved will launch this Sep- tember on One TV and You- tube 4k and will hopefully in- spire many others to follow suit and show off their creative talents.
