The exhibi- tion was inaugurated by Coun- cilor Marialaura Tessarin in the presence of all the participating artists as well as members of Artisti del Delta. Councilor Tes- sarin stated that it was an hon- our to be involved with Artisti del Delta and Art Club 2000 in particular in the inauguration of an exhibition which promot- ed inclusivity and intercultural exchanges. In his speech, Deputy Mayor of Porto Viro Doriano Mancin said "Art is a universal lan- guage that unites and therefore we will remember you here at Porto Vino and look forward to a similar event in Malta". To commemorate the twinning, gifts were exchanged between the two clubs and certificates of participation were present- ed to the artists by Gabriella Burgato Dumas, President of Artisti del Delta. Katiuscia Terrentin president of ANCeSCAO (Associazione Nazionale Centri Sociali, Com- itati Anziani e Orti) Porto Viro who provided refreshments for the inauguration as well as pro- vided transport for the partici- pants for the activities in Porto Viro was gifted with a painting by Twanny Darmanin, Presi- dent of Art Club 2000. She said "Art is a talent that is not easily found. We host the elderly and this painting with its vivid and bright colours, will be a breath of light representing Malta in our Home." This initiative materialized through the close collabora- tion between the Presidents of Art Club 2000, Mellieħa, Mal- ta and Aristi del Delta, under the patronage of the Comune of Porto Viro. This twinning of art clubs couldn't have hap- pened without the work and effort performed by Twanny Darmanin, Charles Cini and Tony Valletta for Art Club 2000 along with Gabriella Bur- gato Dumas and Margherita Stoppa for Artisti del Delta. "Unlike wars and politics that tend to divide, art has the task of uniting peoples" said Gabri- ella Burgato Dumas, president of Associazione Artistica Cul- turale, Artisti del Delta, in her speech. In his speech, Twanny Darmanin thanked Artisti del Delta for their hospitality and invited the Italian club to or- ganise an exhibition in Malta to further strengthen the col- laboration between the two en- tities. Apart from coordinating the exhibition, Art Club 2000, in conjunction with Artisti del Delta, also put together a num- ber of cultural excursions for all the participants to Adria, Abbrazia di Pomposa, Comac- cio, Chioggia, Parco Regionale Veneto Del Delta Del Po and Porto Tolle.
